SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING!
Extreme Caution Required
Extreme care should be taken when stripping paint. The
peelings, residue and vapour may contain LEAD which is
poisonous. Any pre 1960 building may have paint containing
lead on wood or metal surfaces which has been covered with
additional layers of paint.
STOP!
If you suspect that paint on surfaces in your house contains lead
seek professional advice.
Lead based paints should only be removed by a professional
and should not be removed using a Heat Gun. Once deposited
on surfaces, hand to mouth contact can result in the ingestion of
lead. Exposure to even low levels of lead can cause irreversible
brain and nervous system damage. The young and unborn
children are particularly vulnerable.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke when stripping paint.
Wear an approved dust mask with a filter. Face masks do not
offer sufficient protection.
Do not use the nozzle as a scraper, purchase a scraper
specifically designed for removing paint.
Do not allow the paint to burn or ignite. This can cause toxic
fumes and damage to the wood underneath.
Do not allow paint scrapings to fall into the nozzle. This will
cause the paint scrapings to ignite.
Do not use in damp conditions or where flammable gases may
be present.
Do not use on any containers or vessels that contain any
flammable or explosive liquid or gases even when empty. They
will contain vapour which will explode.
Ensure adequate ventilation when using the Heat Gun as toxic
fumes may be produced.

You should note that the internal metal parts of this Heat Gun
have been given a protective coating to prevent corrosion during
Caution
Do not use as a hair drier. The high temperature will cause
severe burns.
Do not use on pets under any circumstances.
Do not obstruct the air intake or outlet nozzle. This will cause
a sudden build up of temperature resulting in damage to the
Heat Gun.
Do not place the Heat Gun on any combustible material until it
has fully cooled down.
WARNING!
FIRE PRECAUTIONS
When using the Heat Gun inside your house or workshop
general fire precautions should be observed.
Caution should be observed when working where cables, pipes,
voids, or cavities may exist behind the work area. The heat
could ignite concealed, combustible material.
Keep the nozzle at least 25mm (1") from the surface to prevent
burning. If at any time the paint looks as if it will burn back off the
nozzle or stop and allow the work area to cool down.
Always dispose of the debris safely and clean the work area
when the job is complete.
Keep the power cable, clear of the nozzle at all times.
Never leave the heat gun running when unattended, always
switch it off and disconnect it from the mains supply.
Allow the gun to cool fully before storage. Never lay the gun
on its side to cool, always stand the gun in a vertical position
on a hard heat proof surface ensuring that the air intake is not
obstructed.
Ensure ventilation to the work area to prevent a build up of
vapour.
Protect carpets, furniture and decorative furnishings with a dust
sheet.
manufacture and storage. This protective coating will burn off
during the first few uses of the product, giving off some smoke
when the product is switched off.
Please ensure that when the product is switched off, it is stood in
a vertical position on a non combustible surface during cooling.
SWITCHING ON AND OFF (PIC.1)
The heat gun is fitted with two heat settings. Select switch
position 1. to obtain the lowest heat setting (375°C), select
switch position 2. to obtain the highest heat setting (495°C).
Position 0 is the OFF position (Pic.1).
CHANGING NOZZLES (PIC.2)
The heat gun comes with 4 metal shields designed for different
applications. Select the required nozzle and fit it over the heat
outlet. Making sure that it locates fully (Pic.2).
