indicated on the appliance corresponds
to the local mains voltage.
• Keep away from water! Do not use this

used in a bathroom, unplug the apliance
after use since the proximity of water
presents a hazard even when the
hairdryer is switched off.
• Even when the hair dryer is switched off,
the power is still on. Always pull out the
mains plug when not in use.
• For additional protection the installation
of a residual current device (RCD) with a
rated residual operating current not
exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the
electrical circuit supplying the bathroom.
Ask your installer for advice.
• Never obstruct the air grills.
• This product is equipped with an
automatic overheating protection device.
If the appliance overheats, it will switch
off. Unplug the appliance. After cooling
down for a few minutes, the appliance
can be used again. Before reusing,
check the inlet and outlet grilles for
possible blockage by fluff, hair, etc.
If in doubt, consult your dealer or a
Philips service centre.
• If the mains cord of this appliance is
damaged, it must only be replaced by
Philips or their service representative, as
special tools and/or parts are required.

Electronic temperature selector B
You can set the temperature of the exhaust air by
pressing on either - (left hand side) or + (right
hand side). The temperature setting varies from
cool to hot.
This electronic switch makes it very easy to
change the temperature setting while drying the
hair.
Temperature indicator lights A
The set temperature is indicated by the lights
above the switch.
From the left to the right: cool, tepid, warm, hot.
Air speed selector with "Off" position C
With this switch you can set the speed of the
exhaust air: gentle air stream (I) or strong air
stream (II).
To switch the appliance completely off set this
switch to position 0.
Cool knob E
Keep this knob depressed if you require a cool air
stream for some time while drying or styling.
If the knob is released, the appliance will operate
again at the preset temperature.
Autosensor
The handgrip of the dryer has a built-in
Autosensor mechanism which allows the
appliance only to operate while you are holding
the handgrip.
The mechanism can only be activated if switch C
is in position | or ||.
This means that the hair dryer will switch off as
soon as you put it down, when the Autosensor is
switched on.
And the dryer will switch on again automatically
when picked up.
Ideal when you wish to put the dryer down for a
moment while drying. (E.g. when styling with a
brush.)
However, do not put the dryer on a metal surface
(e.g. refrigerator, washing machine) as this may
disturb the proper functioning of the Autosensor.
