Never set the relief valve to a higher pressure than
the maximum rated pressure of the pump. Higher
settings may result in equipment damage and/or
personal injury.

WARNING: The system operating pressure must not
exceed the pressure rating of the lowest rated
component in the system. Install pressure
gauges in the system to monitor operating pressure.

CAUTION: Avoid damaging hydraulic hose.
Avoid sharp bends and kinks when routing
hydraulic hoses. Using a bent or kinked
hose will cause severe back-pressure. Sharp bends

and kinks will internally damage the hose leading to
premature hose failure.
Do not drop heavy objects on hose. A
sharp impact may cause internal damage
to hose wire strands. Applying pressure to
a damaged hose may cause it to rupture.

IMPORTANT: Do not lift hydraulic equipment by
the hoses or swivel couplers. Use the carrying
handle or other means of safe transport.
CAUTION: Keep hydraulic equipment away
from flames and heat. Excessive heat will soften
packings and seals, resulting in fluid leaks. Heat
also weakens hose materials and packings. For optimum
performance do not expose equipment to temperatures of
65°C [150°F] or higher. Protect hoses and cylinders from
weld spatter.
DANGER: Do not handle pressurized hoses.
Escaping oil under pressure can penetrate the skin,
causing serious injury. If oil is injected under the

skin, see a doctor immediately.
WARNING: Only use hydraulic cylinders in
a coupled system. Never use a cylinder with
unconnected couplers. If the cylinder becomes
extremely overloaded, components can fail catastrophically

causing severe personal injury.
Distribute the load evenly across the entire saddle
surface. Always use a saddle to protect the plunger.
IMPORTANT: Hydraulic equipment must only be

serviced by a qualified hydraulic technician. For
repair service, contact the Authorized ENERPAC
Service Center in your area. To protect your warranty,
use only ENERPAC oil.
WARNING: Immediately replace worn or damaged
parts with genuine ENERPAC parts. Standard grade

withstand high loads.
WARNING: On 25 - 200 ton presses, do not load the
press with the bed pins located below the press
bed. This will put undue stress on the press bed.

3.0 INSTALLATION
3.1 Bed Lifting Jack (25-200 Ton Models)
1. The bed lifting jack is shipped loose, not mounted to
the frame. See Figure 1.

2. Assemble jack handle with beam pins and cotter pins
supplied.
3. Using the nuts, bolts and washers supplied, mount
the bed lifting jack on the bracket that is welded to
the press frame. Tighten securely.
WARNING: Mount the press securely. Unstable
positioning may cause the press to tip, resulting
in serious personal injury or equipment damage.
If the press is to be mounted to the floor or some other

foundation, lower press bed to lowest set of holes before
drilling and bolting down. This will insure that the press
does not twist and that the bed will line up with all sets
of holes in the legs.

3.2 Pump Mounting

1. The pump mounting bracket (if required) is shipped
loose, and should be attached to the opposite side
of the press from the bed lifting jack.
2. Assemble the pump mounting bracket to the press
frame using the 5/8-11 x 1-1/2" bolts, nuts, and
washers provided.
3. Figure 2 shows the location of the pump mounting
bracket.
4. The table below shows which mounting kit is used
with Enerpac pump models. Install the pump on the
mounting bracket as shown in Figure 3. Tighten all
bolts securely.
