cool before moving it, storing it, cleaning it or performing main-
tenance between one use and the next.
Be particularly careful when handling the blade unit.
The blades are very sharp.
The jug and the plastic accessories can be washed by hand with
a normal washing up liquid (do not use abrasive products) or in
the dishwasher. The tank, the jug lid and the blade unit, on the
other hand, are not suitable for dishwashers.
- In order to prevent any rust forming on the blades, clean and
dry the blade unit thoroughly after each use.
- To ensure proper blade unit operation, do not use the blending
mode for more than 10 seconds in a row.
- It is not advisable to use this appliance for chopping very hard
foodstuffs, such as frozen food, as the blades may be damaged
beyond repair.
- Never pour/add any liquids other than tap water or liquids
and/or solids other than those referred to in the "BOILER MAIN-
TENANCE" paragraph (fig. D) into the boiler.
- Use the power cord supplied with the appliance only. It is inad-
visable to use adapters, power strips and/or extension cables. If
necessary, use single or multiple adapters and extension cords
that comply with applicable safety standards, taking care not to
exceed the power limit indicated on the adapter and/or exten-
sion cable.
- Contact Artsana S.p.A. exclusively to replace the power cord.
- The product cannot be used for disinfecting bottles, screw

IV. PREPARING THE PRODUCT
BEFORE FIRST USE:
1) Before using the product and all its components, check that
they are not damaged. If they are, do not use the appliance and
contact qualified personnel or your dealer.
2) Remove the appliance and accessories from the packag-
ing and check they are intact: if there is any visible damage or
doubt, do not use the appliance and/or its components.
Caution: the packaging and all its parts must always be
kept out of reach of children because they may cause
suffocation (bags) or small parts may be swallowed.
IMPORTANT: as with all new electrical equipment in-
tended for contact with food, before the first use, for
hygiene reasons, you should clean the appliance thor-
oughly and wash all the accessories, paying particular attention
to the sharp blades: wipe the surface of the appliance, the tank
unit and the jug with a damp cloth.
When the appliance is switched on for the first time, there may
be a slight odour. This is completely normal.
3) Clean the appliance as follows, referring to the "OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS" paragraph for how to assemble the individual
components:
CAUTION: do not fill the boiler directly from the tap so
as to avoid wetting the electrical components (fig. D).
a) Fill the tank completely (or at least to the minimum level
recommended
with cold tap water. Do not use dem-
ineralised water. Close the cap and rest the tank on the base.
b) Attach the jug to the base, taking care to remove any traces
of dirt. Insert the tilting basket into the jug, close the lid and
plug in the appliance.
c) Set 30 minutes on the display and turn on the appliance by
turning the ON/OFF dial upwards.
d) At the end of the cooking cycle, turn the dial to the horizontal
OFF position
and leave the appliance to cool completely (at
least 15 minutes).
CAUTION: do not enable the blending function: boiling
water may come out of the jug unexpectedly, causing
scalding.
e) Unplug the power cord from the socket and from the appli-
ance, remove the jug, open the lid, remove the basket for cook-
ing food and throw away any water remaining inside the jug,
tank or boiler. Wash the jug, basket and lid with warm water and
normal washing up liquid and rinse thoroughly.
f) Remove the tank, unscrew the cap and rinse with cold tap
water.
CAUTION: the base should never be washed or im-
mersed in water, except as explained in the "BOILER
MAINTENANCE" paragraph!
V. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
THE TANK
To insert and remove the tank from the base:
Rest the tank on the base of the boiler before attaching the
jug, making sure the cap is tightly on, turning it clockwise. To
remove it, lift it up.
THE JUG
To insert and remove the jug from the base:
CAUTION: for safety reasons, the jug with lid should
only be removed if the ON/OFF dial is set to OFF
Insert the jug in the base, lining up the guide symbol O
with the one shown on the tank . Turn the jug clockwise until
the 2 O symbols are in line (fig. B). Proceed in reverse to detach
the jug from the base.
To close and open the jug lid:
Place the lid on the jug and turn it clockwise, lining up the refer-
ence symbols (fig. A). To open it, proceed in reverse order.
To insert the cooking basket or the jar heating support in the jug:
Remove the lid and insert the cooking basket (or the jar heat-
ing support) in the jug, resting the component handle on the
jug handle.
The cooking basket is then inside the corresponding guides
which allow rotation to tip the food out into the jug below.
CAUTION: for safety reasons, never activate the
cooking function if the tilting basket or jar heating
support are not inserted in the jug.
THE BLADE UNIT
To remove the blade unit from the jug:
Detach the jug from the base, gently grasp the blade unit from
the outside of the jug and turn it anti-clockwise. Remove the
blade unit, holding it from above, taking care not to cut yourself.
To secure the blade unit in the jug:
Insert the blade unit in the jug, taking care not to injure yourself.
Grasp the base of the blade unit from the outside of the jug and
turn it clockwise until it is firmly attached.
CAUTION: when the blades are not inserted in the jug,
protect them and store them safely out of reach of chil-
dren.
VI. PREPARING FOOD
HOW TO COOK
The Natural Steam Cooker steams fruit, vegetables, meat, fish,
rice and other foods suitable for steaming, preserving the pro-
teins and vitamins.
Before using this product, always make sure the boiler cap is
closed properly.
