Strawberry Sorbet

cups Fresh or individually frozen strawberries (thawed)
cup Granulated sugar
cup Water
2 tsps. Lemon juice
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat to boiling on
medium high, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low, and simmer until
sugar is dissolved. Remove pan from heat, pour liquid into a bowl and cool in
the refrigerator for 1 - 2 hours.
2. Puree the strawberries with lemon juice in a blender or food processor. Pour
into the liquid mixture bowl and stir until blended.
3. Pour into the freezer canister and freeze as directed.
Frozen Yogurt with Berries
1 cup Low fat vanilla yogurt
¼ cup Whole milk
cup Granulated sugar
1 cup Individually frozen strawberries, mixed berries or raspberries (not in syrup)
1. In a food processor or blender, puree the frozen fruit. Strain if desired to
remove seeds. Set aside.
2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, milk, and sugar. Using a hand
mixer, beat on medium speed until sugar is dissolved, about 1 - 2 minutes.
3. Using a mixer on low speed, add the berry puree and mix until blended, about
30 seconds.
4. Pour into the freezer canister and freeze as directed.
