If the reception is poor, please check:
– if the batteries of the transmitter are ex -
hausted.
The display shows a battery symbol (d) indi-
cating the status of the batteries in the trans-
mitter in four 4 levels.
– if the transmission power of the transmitter is
too low.
To increase the transmission range when the
transmitter and the receiver are placed at a
greater distance, it is possible to increase the
transmission power from 10 mW to 50 mW
(possible for transmitter IN-264TH/5 only,
instruction manual of the transmitter).
– if the reception is disturbed by objects in the
transmission path.
Make sure to keep the transmitter and the
receiver at a minimum distance of 50 cm from
metal objects and any other sources of inter-
ference, e. g. electric motors or fluorescent
lamps.
– if the reception is improved when you move
the antennas.
– if the squelch threshold adjusted with the
SQUELCH control is too high
4) Speak/sing into the microphone of the trans mit-
ter or, when picking up the sound of an instru-
ment, feed an audio signal to the microphone.
The indication AF (b) shows the volume level of
the audio signal received. The more segments of
the indication AF displayed, the higher the level.
Set the transmitter to the optimum volume
via the indication AF
the transmitter.
5) Use the volume control (2) to match the output
level of the receiver to the input of the subse-
quent unit. If you use the XLR audio output and
the level is too high even when the volume is
low, attenuate the level by 20 dB with the toggle
switch OUTPUT LEVEL (10) [position MIC.].
6) Use the control SQUELCH (12) to adjust the
threshold for interference suppression. The fur-
ther the control turned clockwise, the higher the
threshold.
Interference suppression will mute the re -
ceiver when high-frequency interference signals
with a level below the threshold adjusted are
received during music intervals. With a higher
threshold, however, the transmission range will
decrease as the receiver will also be muted
when the intensity of the radio signal of the
transmitter falls below the threshold adjusted.
Therefore, adjust a higher threshold with the
control SQUELCH when the reception is good;

the receiver are placed at the greater distance.
7) The receiver is provided with a lock function to
prevent accidental change of settings or switch-
ing off
chapter 5.1.4.
8) After operation, set the on/off switch (8) to OFF.
If the receiver is not in use for a longer period
of time, disconnect the power supply unit from
the mains socket; even when the receiver is
switched off, it will have a low power consump-
tion.

5.1 Adjusting the receiver

When the receiver is not locked, press the button
SET (6) to activate the setting modes one after
another:
group (keep button pressed for a while) → channel
→ scan function → identification number → lock
function
To make settings in a setting mode, see the corre-
sponding chapter 5.1.1 to 5.1.4.
To exit a setting mode without changing a setting,
press the button SET repeatedly until the display
briefly shows
then return to the normal mode.
5.1.1 Transmission frequency (group /channel)
To set the transmission frequency, select the chan-
nel group and the channel. Six channel groups with
preset channels in different numbers are available
table on page 24.
To prevent interference, carefully match the transmission
frequencies of all transmission paths at the place of
application to one another. In case of parallel operation of
several channels, it is recommended to use channels
from the same group.
1) Keep the button SET (6) pressed until the letter
"G" starts flashing on the display; the group set-
ting mode is activated.
2) Select the group (
or the button
(7).
3) Press the button SET to confirm. The letters
"CH" start flashing on the display; the channel
setting mode is activated.
4) Select the channel with the button
the scan function has been activated (
ter 5.1.2), each time a channel is selected, the
unit will check if the corresponding transmission
frequency is presently being used for transmis-
sion (brief insertion
