Read the instructions, keep them safe, pass them on if you pass the appliance on.
Remove all packaging before use.
A IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Follow basic safety precautions, including:
1 This appliance must only be used by or under the supervision of a responsible adult. Use and
store the appliance out of reach of children.
2 Don't put the kettle, stand, cable, or plug in any liquid; don't use the kettle in a
bathroom, near water, or outdoors.
3 Keep the kettle, stand, and cable away from the edges of worktops and out of reach
of children.
4 Unplug the stand when not in use, before moving and before cleaning.
5 Don't use the kettle for any purpose other than heating water.
6 Use the kettle only with the stand supplied (and vice versa).
7 Put the stand on a stable, level surface.
8 Wind excess cable beneath the stand.
9 This appliance must not be operated by an external timer or remote control system.
10 Don't operate the appliance if it's damaged or malfunctions.
11 If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or
someone similarly qualified, in order to avoid hazard.
a TOUCH CONTROLS
• You don't need to press the button hard – a light touch is enough.
Z SLEEP MODE
• If the appliance is inactive, and you don't touch the controls for 5 minutes, the lights will go
out, to save electricity.
• To wake the appliance, touch any button.
U BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
Fill to max, boil, discard the water, then rinse. Do this three times, to remove manufacturing dust,
etc.
C FILLING
1 Remove the kettle from the stand.
2 Press the lid lock to open the lid.
3 Fill with at least 2 cups of water, but not above max.
4 If you overfill, the kettle may spit boiling water.
5 Close the lid, and press down to lock it.
C SWITCHING ON
6 Plug the stand into the wall socket.
7 Put the kettle on the stand.
8 The buttons will flash twice, then glow steadily.
b VARIABLE TEMPERATURE
9 The temperatures available are: 100 (boil), 95 (coffee), 90, 80, 70, and 60 (that's °C).
10 Touch the button marked with the temperature you want.
11 The button will flash.
y PULSING ELEMENT
12 Initially, you'll hear the element pulse on, off, and on again, as it works to control the
temperature accurately.
