Before setting up your aquarium:
• Purchase decorative materials for the tank from a specialist retailer. (& 10, Choosing an installa-

• Carefully remove any visible packaging materials.
• Clean the tank. (& 12, Cleaning the tank)
• Choose a suitable installation location for the aquarium. (& 10, Choosing an installation location)
Choosing an installation location
• The aquarium must not be positioned in direct sunlight.
• Never move the aquarium when filled with water. Choose a permanent location for the aquarium.
• Do not place the aquarium on or near electrical devices or sources of heat.
• Install the aquarium on a level, waterproof surface. The surface must not be subject to vibrations.
• The load-bearing capacity of the installation location must be greater than the weight of the aquari-
um when full.
• A socket must be located near the installation location. The power plug must be freely accessible so
that the aquarium can be easily and quickly disconnected from the mains.
Decorative materials
Decorative materials (e.g. gravel, aquatic plants) enhance the aquarium. Ask your specialist retailer for
advice when choosing these items so that you do not introduce any toxic or unsuitable materials into
the aquarium.

SETTING UP THE AQUARIUM

To set up the aquarium, you need seven litres of chlorine-free tap water, and decorative material. Suit-
ably arranged decorative material reduces the effect of the current in the tank.
Procedure:

1. Fold the water cascade up.
2. Remove the tank from the base plate and rinse with tap water.
– Carefully set down the tank so that the glass does not break.
– When cleaning, check the tank for leaks.
– Remove any residual water from the tank.
3. Place the decorative material (e.g. gravel, aquatic plants) in the tank and arrange in place.
– Distribute the items in the tank so that the water running down the waterfall hits the decorative
material. This will settle the current.
4. Place the tank back on the base plate.
5. Fold the water cascade back down.
