4. Backup function
The "BACKUP" button is on the front of the
docking station. By pressing this button just
once you can make backups of selected files and
folders from another of your computer's hard
disks.
NB: This function is only available in Windows
as Mac OS already offers the smart backup facility
Time Machine. The following section is therefore
of no relevance to Mac OS users.

4.1 Installation of software

1. Insert the CD provided.
2. Open the PcCloneEx folder and then the
"Setup.exe" file.
3. Click "Install", "Next", "Install" and then
"OK".
The program is now installed and ready for use.
4.2 Use of backup software
1. You have a new icon in the notification area.
Double-click it. The PCClone EX Lite program
launches.
2. Click the Files backup icon in the middle of
the screen.
Now select the files that you want to back up.
On the left-hand side of the screen you will see
your computer's disk drive and on the right-hand
side the hard disk in the docking station.
3. Select the folders and files on the left-hand
side of the screen that you want to back up.
4. Press the button on the front of the docking
station. A window will open on your screen.
5. Press the button again. Backup of the selected
files starts.
Every time you want to make a backup copy of
the selected files in future all you have to do is
press the button.
If you would like to change the files and folders
which are backed up, click the "Files backup"
icon in the PCClone EX Lite program.
NB: Your backups will be saved on the drive in
a hidden folder called FNET. If you want the
folder to be visible, you must select "Show
hidden files and folders" in Windows' Folder
view.
5 Troubleshooting
If the computer detects the docking station but
a new drive is not shown:
• Check that the connected hard disk is
formatted/partitioned. For more information,
see the documentation accompanying the hard
disk or on the manufacturer's website.
• Check that the enclosed power supply is
correctly connected and that the docking station
is switched on (see section 2). If it is connected
correctly, the LED on the front of the docking
station will be on.
• Check that the hard disk has been pushed fully
into place onto the SATA connectors in the
docking station.
• Try switching to another USB port on your
computer. If the docking station is connected
via a USB hub, try to connect it directly to one
of the computer's USB ports instead.
If you need further help or assistance with your
Sandberg product, you will find details about
this on the penultimate page of this user guide.
Have fun with your Sandberg SATA Docking
Station!
