• All strands of the conductor must enter the terminal clamp.
• Ferrules may be fitted to flexible conductors.
Note: They must be produced according to the manufacturer's
specifications.
• All used and unused terminal points must be fully tightened by the
operator.
• Tighten all terminal blocks to the torque values as specified by the
manufacturer.
• Avoid bunching the conductors as much as possible to prevent "hot
spots" forming.
• An earth terminal secured to the assembly rail by screws may be used as
an end bracket.
• Use the correct size of tool for tightening the terminal clamps (screwdriver
or spanner).
• Any cross-connected terminal assembly fitted with a jumper bar shall
be mounted and used subject to limitations given in the certification
documents for that terminal. You will find further details on cross-
connections in the online catalogue (section on modular terminal blocks),
available on the Weidmüller website.

Current Limits of the Terminals

The tables in the appendix specifies a set of values comprising, for each
terminal size, the permissible number of conductors, the conductor size and
the maximum current.
The specified nominal voltages and nominal currents for the Ex e terminals
are reduced levels which may not be exceeded. Refer to the appropriate
component certificate for the maximum conductor size. The maximum
permissible rated current of the applied terminals and cables must be taken
into account.
The table shows numbers of conductors.
Note: in most cases one terminal connects two conductors.
