KIDFIX warning notes
G
Risk of injury
If the child safety seat is incorrectly fitted, it
could come loose in the event of an accident,
sharp braking or a sudden change of direc-
tion, and the child and/or other vehicle occu-
pants could be seriously or fatally injured.
Therefore:
• use the child safety seat facing in the direc-
tion of travel in the vehicle. Use on a rear-
facing seat (e.g. van, minibus) is permitted if
the seat is approved for the transport of
adults and no airbag can deploy into the area
of the seat.
• fasten the child safety seat with the KIDFIX
locking arms (if fitted) at the ISOFIX mount-
ing points
• secure the child safety seat with a
lap-shoulder belt in the vehicle
• make sure that the seat belt fits snugly and
is not twisted
• make sure that none of the front airbags
can come in contact with the child safety
seat.

G
Risk of injury
Do not leave children unattended in the vehi-
cle, even if they are secured in a child re-
straint system. The children could otherwise:
• injure themselves on parts of the vehicle
• open the doors, thereby injuring them-
selves and others
• get out of the vehicle and injure them-
selves or be injured by a passing vehicle
• operate the power windows, sliding sun-
roof or electric seat adjustment (depend-
ing on the vehicle's equipment) and injure
themselves and others
• suffer serious or fatal injuries due to pro-
longed exposure to intense heat.
G
Risk of injury
According to accident statistics, children are
better protected in a suitable child restraint
system on one of the rear seats than on the
front-passenger seat. You should therefore
install the child safety seat in the rear, prefer-
ably on one of the outer seats. Otherwise, the
child could be seriously or fatally injured in
the event of an accident, sharp braking or a
sudden change of direction.
G
Risk of injury
To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury to
a child in the event of an accident, sharp
braking or a sudden change of direction,
please observe the following:
• Always secure children less than 1.50 m in
height and under twelve years of age in
special child restraint systems on suitable
seats since they cannot wear seat belts
correctly. In the event of an accident, sharp
braking or a sudden change of direction,
they would strike parts of the interior and
injure themselves severely or even fatally
• Never allow a child to sit on another occu-
pant's lap while travelling in the vehicle.
Due to the powerful forces involved, a child
sitting on the lap of another vehicle occu-
pant cannot be restrained in the event of
an accident, sharp braking or a sudden
change of direction. The child could be
thrown against parts of the vehicle interior
and be seriously or even fatally injured.
• All vehicle occupants must wear their seat
belts correctly at all times.
