Install the ES-6000
For network operation, the ES-6000 and your computer must both be connected to the same subnet of your local
area network.
The ES-6000 is automatically configured to use a dynamic IP address if a DHCP server is found on the network. To
configure a static IP address instead, use the software on the DVD that is included in the ES-6000 kit and connect
your computer directly to the ES-6000 with the network cable.
1 Release the transport guard by moving the switch on the bottom of the instrument to the unlocked position.
2 If you want the power cable to extend from the side of the instrument that is opposite from where the power
supply connects to the instrument, lay the cable into the tray.
The tray prevents the cable from interfering with the moving page.
3 Connect the power supply.
4 For USB operation, connect the USB cable to the ES-6000 and to your computer.
5 For network operation, connect the Ethernet cable to the ES-6000 and to your network.
6 Turn on the power switch on the back of the ES-6000.
Measure a page
The ES-6000 feeds a page automatically and scans the page to measure color values.
The operation of the ES-6000 is controlled by your software.
The ES-6000 supports the following measurement modes. Select the measurement mode in your software.

M0 - UV included
•
M1 - D50, UV included
•
M2 - UV cut
1 When the measurement light is blinking green, insert the page in the instrument in the direction indicated on the
page.
2 Press the button on the left side of the instrument.
Thick paper may require slight pressure to feed the page. Curled paper may require a side-to-side motion.
A maximum paper weight of 300 gsm is supported.
