situation which, if not avoided, COULD result
in death or serious injury
1. Improper fit of ear plugs will reduce their
effectiveness in reducing noise and could
result in hearing loss or injury.
2. Keep ear plugs away from infants and
small children. They may interfere with
beathing if caught in windpipe.
INFORMATION REQUIRED BY THE EPA
1. EPA has selected the Noise Reduction
Rating (NRR) as the measure of a hearing
protector's noise reducing capablilities.
There is no warranty as to the suitablility of
the NRR as a measure of actual workplace
protection since such protection is highly
dependent on user training, motivation, and
ultization. A better estimate of workplace
protection can be obtained by derating the
labeled NRR of this, or any other hearing
protector, by 50%.
2. The NRR calculated from this attenuation
data is 30. Improper fit of this device will
reduce its effectiveness in attenuating noise.
