says "The yellow duck")
Mode 2: listen to the animal's voice and press the key with the matching animal figure
Mode 3: listen to a question and press the key with the right answer
Mode 4: listen to a question and press the corresponding keys; if the first answer is right, the same question
is repeated with the addition of a new element (the name of an animal or a number), up to a maxi-
mum string of 5 elements that the child must remember in the same order as they are introduced
by the talking bear.
In the modes 2, 3 and 4, every time the child gives a correct answer, the little bear congratulates it and for-
mulates a new question to which the child must reply. Whenever the child makes a mistake, the little bear
pleasantly warns it that it has given the wrong answer and then repeats the question. If the wrong key is
pressed several times, the little bear invites the child to answer another question.
If the toy remains unused for a brief spell, the little bear invites the child to go on playing or repeats its last
question. After a few repetitions, if the child does not press any key, the little bear says good-by, and the toy
automatically goes on stand-by mode. To restart the toy, the child must press any key and choose again the
desired playing mode.
Every time the key with the female bear (E) is pressed, several farmyard fun melodies are played.
Once the child has learnt the words in its mother tongue, it can choose a second language by turning the
sun-shaped selector and start learning the same words in a new language, following the same procedure as
described above.
In order to save energy, it is recommended that the toy is switched off after use by turning the switch to
the OFF position.
FITTING AND/OR REPLACING BATTERIES
• Batteries must only be fitted by an adult.
• To replace spent batteries: Loosen the screw on the battery compartment cover with a screwdriver and
remove the cover. Then remove the spent batteries and fit new ones, ensuring that they have been fitted
in the correct polarity (as shown on the product), close the battery cover, and tighten the screw.
• Only use alkaline batteries of the same type or equivalent to the type recommended for the correct func-
tion of this product.
• Never mix new and old or different types of batteries.
• Always keep batteries and tools out of reach of children.
• Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
• Always remove spent batteries from the toy to avoid the danger of leakage from the battery damaging the product.
• Always remove the batteries if the toy will not be used for a long period of time.
• Do not burn or dispose of spent batteries into the environment. Dispose of them at an appropriate dif-
ferentiated collection point.
• Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries, they might explode.
• The use of rechargeable batteries is not recommended, since they might impair the toy's functionality.
• If rechargeable batteries are used, remove them from the toy before recharging; this operation must be
carried out only under adult supervision.
