INSTALLATION

Carefully take the unit out of its box and remove the
packaging material as indicated. Once you have
removed the packaging materials, place the unit on a
solid and leveled surface that prevents vibrations.
Always install the unit far from flammable materials and
in a space that allows optimal ventilation to dissipate the
heat generated by its operation.
Never install the unit outdoors. Do not expose it to
rainfall or direct sunrays.
Make sure that the input voltage is 120 VAC +/- 10%.
The equipment can remain turned on continuously;
however, if you do not use it for long periods of time, it
is recommended to unplug it from the electrical outlet.
CAUTION: There is potentially lethal HIGH VOLTAGE
inside this equipment. If you need to open it to adjust the
input impedance or to change the AC fuse, you must
unplug it from the AC power and wait at least 20 minutes.

CONNECTIONS AND OPERATION

Before you connect the equipment to the AC power, it
must be properly connected both to the integrated
amplifier or preamplifier terminals and to the turntable.
The output of the FZ47DB is RCA line level (unbalanced).
The equipment has gold-plated copper RCA terminals to
prevent corrosion and improve conductivity, so you
should avoid forcing them.
Always connect the interconnect cables respecting the
following order: White for left channel and Red for right
channel, since inverting them prevents the generation of
a realistic soundstage.
Connect the tonearm ground wire to the phono stage
preamplifier's ground screw.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Avoid the use of long interconnect cables (longer than
1.5 meters) between the turntable and the FZ47DB, as
well as between the FZ47DB and the amplifier since this
may induce noise into the signal.
Verify that the turntable's ground wire is properly
shielded and connected to the FZ47DB, using the
ground screw located at the back of the unit to do so.
Verify that the turntable's cable, as well as the
interconnect cable between the FZ47DB and the
amplifier are nowhere near AC power sources, such as
wall outlets, power supplies, power distributors, power
cables, transformers of other electrical devices, or
speaker cables.
Never wind, twist, or twine the turntable's cable or the
interconnect cables between the FZ47DB and the
amplifier.
Always use high-quality end to end isolated and
shielded cables in order to avoid noise induction that
may interfere with music reproduction.
The quality as well as the DC offset in the AC powerline
are important to avoid any mechanical noise induced by
the transformers.
Placing the equipment on vibration dampening or
isolation devices (spikes) usually helps to improve the
instrumental detail. The FZ47DB is an equipment
sensitive to small adjustments, therefore we recommend
the use of high-quality cables as well as a firm stand.

TROUBLESHOOTING

1.
The phono stage preamplifier does not turn on:
Verify the equipment is correctly connected to the
mains power or AC power source.
Check the electrical supply input fuse located inside
the unit. If it is damaged, replace it by one that meets the
correct specifications.
If the fuse blows again, directly contact our technical
support department.
2.
One of the channels does not emit sound:
Verify that the cables of the turntable, as well as the
interconnection cables, are properly connected to their
respective terminals.
3.
A humming sound is heard in both channels:
Verify that the cables of the turntable, as well as the
interconnection cables, are properly connected to their
respective terminals.
Check that the turntable's ground wire is properly
connected to the FZ47DB's ground screw.
