Tilt Switch Kit
For Z Master Mowers
Model No. 112–8349
Due to changing regulations regarding the sale
of items containing mercury, Toro will no longer
sell the tilt switch. The switch should be removed
from the product and returned for disposal in the
enclosed shipping container.
The mercury contained in the tilt switch
is poisonous and exposure to mercury can
cause severe illness.
• Never attempt to open or repair the tilt
switch.
• Avoid contact with the mercury.

Removing the Tilt Switch
No Parts Required
Procedure
Note: There are no parts supplied with this
kit to replace the tilt switch. The following
instructions explain the removal of the switch and
the reconnecting of the existing wire harness'.
1. Disengage the PTO, move the motion control
levers to the neutral locked position and set
the parking brake.
2. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for
all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3. Tilt the seat forward.
4. For Z100 and Z400 Z Masters, disconnect the
tilt switch wire harness from the seat switch
(Figure 1).
5. Remove the bolts holding the tilt switch to the
frame and disconnect the main wire harness
from the switch.

6. Connect the main wire harness directly to the
seat switch.

7. For Z200 and Z500 Z Masters, disconnect the
tilt switch wire harness from the seat switch
wire harness (Figure 2).
8. Remove the bolts holding the tilt switch to the
frame and disconnect the main wire harness
from the switch.
9. Connect the main wire harness directly to the
seat switch wire harness.
