Important information for the installation of the MOPAR PARK MASTER
Concerning the painting of the ultrasonic parking sensors
The ultrasonic parking sensors can be painted, however the following points must be well observed:
- Before starting the painting process, the seals of the sensor heads must be protected with the enclosed
plastic rings! The sensors will no longer function if the seals are painted!
- To prevent the plastic rings from sticking, the rings must be removed directly after each paint process
step (primer, lacquer, clear lacquer) and be remounted after drying, before the next paint process step.
Concerning the installation
- When installing, avoid contact of the sensor heads with metal objects.
- PT Cruiser MY 06: The correct sensor fitting direction is with the point marking positioned down (the
point marking is on the sensor head front side).
Programming: automated set-up of the MOPAR PARK MASTER
1) Position the vehicle such that the most external point of the vehicle has a distance of 50cm to the
reference surface.
Important:
- The typical reference surface for set-up is a wall, avoid metallic surfaces (for example metal doors or
gates).
- The reference surface should always remain parallel to the bumper.
- For standard vehicles, the distance to the reference surface should be measured from the centre of the
bumper. For vehicles with a (detachable) tow bar, an outside spare wheel or alike, the distance must be
measured from this item.
2) Check that the blue wire loop is intact.
3) Turn the ignition on.
4) Put in reverse gear.
5) The start of the automated set-up procedure will be indicated with 2 signal tones
6) The system needs maximal 100 seconds for the automated set-up.
7) Now, there are 3 possible scenarios:
A) In case of a prolonged beep, the programming was successful, continue with step 8.
B) In case of short-interval beeps, the programming was unsuccessful. Repeat below steps until a
prolonged beep confirms successful programming, then continue with step 8:
- Increase the distance to the reference surface in steps of 5cm.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Repeat step 3 to 6.
Important:
- The maximum distance to the reference surface may not exceed 80cm.
- When using a distance of more than 50cm, the zone for a continuous acoustic signal grows
proportionally with the distance to the reference surface at which the system is set-up.
C) In the case of neither a prolonged beep, nor short-interval beeps, continue with following steps until a
prolonged beep confirms successful programming, then continue with step 8:
- Examine the connections of all the sensors and the control unit.
- Examine the sensor and supply cable for conductivity.
- Check supply voltage with reference to ground.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Repeat step 3 to 6.
8) Turn the ignition off.
9) Cut the blue cable loop and insulate both ends.
