Reading a tag with Mothering selected
To select Mothering, see How to start a new session (p.10).
When in a mothering session, fi rst scan the Dam's electronic tag,
or use 'Find Animal' (press
the Dam based on its visual tag.
You will be asked to specify this animal as a Dam (press
you can record data against its ID in the usual manner.
Next, scan the off spring and select the 'Off spring' op on from
the pop-up menu. The Dam's ID will be automa cally recorded
against this animal, along with any other manual data that may
be desired.
Mul ple off spring can be recorded in this manner without having
to re-scan the mother repeatedly.
Enter a VID manually
On a tag read, if an EID does not have a corresponding VID
number, this can be manually entered to create an EID/VID cross
reference for the animal.
