Flashing red battery charge level indicator (3)
The flashing light of the red battery
charge level indicator (3) signals that
the charging process has been inter-
rupted by a different fault, see section
"Errors – causes and corrective measures".
Indications on 36 V Batteries
During the charging procedure, the three green
charge-control indicators (5) of the battery light
up one after the other and briefly go out. The bat-
tery is fully charged when the three green indicat-
ors light up continuously. After approx. 5 minutes
after the battery has been fully charged, the three
green indicators go out again.
When the red temperature control indicator (6)
lights up when placing the battery into the char-
ger, the temperature of the battery is not within
the charge-temperature range (see section "Tech-
nical Data"). The battery cannot be charged until
after the allowable operating temperature range
has been reached.

Practical advice
English
A significantly reduced operating time after char-
ging indicates that the battery has deteriorated
and must be replaced.

When the charger is used continuously, or for sev-

eral consecutive charge cycles without interrup-
tion, the charger may heat up. This is, however,
harmless and does not indicate that the charger
has a technical defect.
Battery cooling (Active Air Cooling)
The fan control unit integrated into the charger
English
monitors the temperature of the inserted battery.
As soon as the battery temperature is above ap-
prox. 0 °C, the battery will be cooled by a fan. The
fan generates a ventilation sound when switched
on.
If the fan does not run, it is defective or the bat-
tery temperature is < 0 °C. This can increase the
charging time.
Maintenance and Service
Maintenance and cleaning
In order to avoid safety hazards, if the power sup-
ply cord needs to be replaced, this must be done
by Berner or by an after-sales service centre that
is authorised to repair Berner power tools.
Disposal
Chargers, accessories and packaging should be
recycled in an environmentally friendly manner.
Only for EU countries:
According to the European Directive 2012/19/EU
on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and
its implementation into national law, chargers that
are no longer usable must be collected separately
and disposed of in an environmentally friendly
manner.
