7-Way Connector/Adapter
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read instructions thoroughly before beginning.
2. Locate the vehicles factory OEM trailer light wiring harness.
On vehicles equipped with an original factory 7-way connector,
the harness will be attached to the hitch on the left (driver's)
side at the rear of the vehicle (Fig. 1A), or in the bumper next to
the license plate (Fig. 1B). For
vehicles without factory tow wiring
connectors, the harness will be
located under the vehicle along
the left (driver's) side frame rail.
3. Separate the original 7-Way
connector (if present) from the
vehicle wiring harness. Carefully slide the red locking tab to the
side (Fig. 2) and gently pull the connector and harness apart taking
care not to damage the locking tabs.
4. Insert the Adapter's Square 10-Pin connector into the matching
harness connector, pressing firmly into place. Return the red
locking tab to it's original position securing the connector.
5. Insert the round 7-pin connector into a replacement 7-way
trailer connector (Valley product number
53230). Firmly press the ends together
until the locking tabs engage.
6. Confirm trailer harness operation
with a test light or by using a trailer.
