C. Electrical Connection.
1. Connect one of the power leads to an activation device. Remaining power lead MUST be
connected to a good vehicle ground. See figure 3.
2. To protect the vehicle electrical system, install a user-supplied in-line fuseholder as close
as practical to the battery. Install an 8 ampere fuse in the fuseholder.
3. Check the light for proper operation by setting the activation device to its "on" position.
If the light does not operate, check the fuse to ensure that it has not blown. If the fuse is
blown, remove the flasher from the circuit and check for a short circuit between the
fuseholder and the flasher location and between the flasher location and the light.
If the fuse is not blown, the bulb in the lamp or the flasher may be faulty. Check the wiring
for continuity and proper grounding.
II. MAINTENANCE.
Failure to follow these safety precautions may result in property damage,
A. General.
Listed below are some important safety instructions and precautions you should follow:
• Read and understand all instructions before operating this system.
• Any maintenance to the light system must be done with power turned off.
• Any maintenance to the light system must be performed by a trained electrician in accordance
with NEC and SAE Guidelines and local codes.
B. Re-lamping.
To change the lamp, proceed as follows:
1. Remove the two screws located at the bottom edge of the dome. Retain these screws.
2. Gently lift dome away.
3. On Model 141-012, replace lamp with Federal Part No. K8107212A. On Model 141-024,
replace lamp with Federal Part No. K8107213A. On Model 141-036, replace lamp with
Federal Part No. K8263078A (GE 1062).
4. Place the dome over the base. Align screw holes in dome and base. Insert previously
removed screws and tighten.
