5.2.
Starting the engine
Important!!!
Before you start the generator, always remove the top strips LEFT (51)
& RIGHT (50) from the battery (see fig. 10)!
13
2. The lever "A" must be at "RUN" to start the engine. If the lever
is not at "RUN", then set it to this position. Normally, the gener-
ator is switched off when you turn the ignition key to "OFF".
Otherwise, you could press the lever "B" downwards to switch it
off. The lever "A" immediately falls to position "STOP". To re-
start, the lever "A" must again be brought to the position "RUN"
(see fig. 12).
3. Turn the main / changeover switch (fig. 11 no. 14) to "0".
4. After you perform this step, you can now start the generator. To do this, insert the ignition key provided in the
ignition key switch (fig. 11 no. 12) and along the direction "Start". Let go of the ignition key after max. 10 sec-
onds and the engine should now run.
If the engine does not start after 10 seconds, you should wait for at least 1 minute before the next attempt.
This process may only be repeated a maximum of 3 times and then the electric starter must be allowed to cool
down for at least 15 minutes. Disregarding this can cause the damage to the starter and/or engine. Do not at-
tempt to start the engine when it is already running!
5. After a warm-up period (1 - 2 min), you can adjust the main / changeover switch (fig. 11 no. 14) of position "0"
to the operating voltage you require 230 V or 400 V (230 V = pos.1; 400 V = pos. 2). Observe the running of
the engine as well as the colour of the exhaust gas once started. The engine running should settle down after
a few minutes. The voltmeter should show 230 V.

Earth the generator before use
Make sure that the generator is earthed by pushing a metal rod* into the
ground and connecting it with earth connection via a cable* (fig. 2 no. 18).
(* = not included in scope of delivery.)
1.
Disconnect all consumers from the power supply (.9, 19 &
20) and switch the ignition key (12) to "OFF" (see fig. 2
and 11).
