TO USE YOUR DATA
RECORDER WITH ATARI
HOME COMPUTERS
(Used with external AC power converter only)
PRELIMINARY SET-UP
1. Ensure SYSTEM sw itch, located on bo ttom o f Data Recorder is
set, to position marked, " ATARI".
2. C onnect the plugs from the Interface unit to the 6V DC, Ear, M ic
and Rem ote jacks on the Data Recorder.
3. Plug the AC Power C onverter into the 6V DC jack on the Inter
face unit and into 120V AC household power outlet.
4. Plug the Atari Interconnect Cable into the Interface unit and the
other end into yo u r Atari Hom e C om puter System.
CASSETTE INSERTION
1. To insert or remove cassette when RECORD or PLAY button is
'depressed, you m ust first press STOP/EJECT b utton (return all
b uttons to " o ff" position), then depress STOP/EJECT button
again to open CASSETTE CARRY DOOR.
NOTE: An internal interlock prevents the cassette door from
opening unless all co n tro ls are in o ff (up) position.
2. Insert cassette w ith the exposed tape facing the push buttons.
G ently slide into the CASSETTE CARRY DOOR w ith the full reel
of tape to the left.
IMPORTANT: To avoid possible loss of data a t the beginning of the
tape during recording or playback resulting in an " error" read/write
by the com puter, be sure the tape leader is advanced prior to recor
ding or playing back a tape.
TO SAVE (Record) DATA
(Computer to Tape)
1. Insert a blank cassette in the C om puter Program Data Record
er. Rewind to the beginning o f the tape. (If you are adding an

2. On your com puter, type CSAVE and press RETURN. Two beeps

NOTE: In the unlikely event that interference occurs to other peri
pheral equipm ent, such as a printer, modem, etc., during the
" SAVE" mode, unplug the Interface " EAR" plug from the back of the
recorder during the " SAVE" operation. Be sure to reconnect this
plug a fte r " SAVE" operation is com plete to allow NORM AL " LOAD"
operation.
RECORD (REC) LED INDICATOR
W hen in RECORD mode, the LED on the Interface unit and the REC
LED on the Data Recorder w ill blink to indicate the intensity of the
signal level being recorded.
NOTE: Normally, the DATA LEVEL control m ust be
set at 1/4 position or higher setting to activate LED.
RECORD MONITORING
W hen recording, you can m on ito r (listen to) what is being record
ed through the PROGRAM MONITOR SPEAKER. Set MONITOR
LEVEL sw itch to LO or HI posi-
tion fo r preferred listening level.

TO LOAD COMPUTER

1. Insert Cassette in to recorder.
