- switch off the tool/unlock the switch by pressing switch

• Charging battery #
- battery of new tools is not fully charged
- plug charger J into wall socket
- insert charger plug K into battery as illustrated
- charging light H turns on indicating that the battery is
being charged
- after 3 hours the charging operation will be completed,
and the battery may be used
IMPORTANT:
- do not charge at temperatures below 0°C and over
40°C; this will seriously damage the battery as well as
the charger
- while charging, the charger and the battery may
become warm to touch; this is normal and does not
indicate a problem
- do not remove battery from tool while it is running
! a battery that is new or has not been used for a
longer period does not develop its full capacity
until after approximately 5 charging/discharging
cycles
- do not repeatedly recharge the battery after only a few
minutes of operation; this may result in a reduction of
operating time and battery efficiency
- the battery must be kept separate from the natural
environment and should not be disposed of as normal
domestic waste (symbol 0 will remind you of this
when the need for disposing occurs)
! prior to disposal protect battery terminals with
heavy tape to prevent short-circuit
- if you anticipate long periods of non-use for the tool, it
is best to unplug the charger from its power source
• Changing batteries $
- press button G and slide off battery
- mount battery by sliding it onto tool until it snap-locks
• Changing scissor heads %
! remove battery from tool
- lift button B and hold it while sliding off scissor head
- mount scissor head by sliding it onto tool as illustrated
until it snap-locks
• Operating the tool
- before using the tool, unplug the charger and
disconnect the tool from the charger
- remove blade protection cap L 2
- switch on the tool
- let the cutting blades run freely for a few seconds
before starting the cut
- do not apply too much pressure on the tool; let the tool
do the work for you
- both straight and curved cuts can be made in an
accurate manner
! the cutting blades become hot during use; do not
touch them before they have cooled down
• Cutting materials ^
- use scissor head C 2 for cutting soft and flexible
materials such as paper, curtains, carpet, leather,
wallpaper, vinyl, foil, etc.
- scissor head C carries symbol D 2 to indicate soft
and flexible materials
- cutting tough materials (such as hard plastics and tin
sheets) with scissor head C 2 will sooner blunt the

solid cardboard
plastic straps
plastic sheets (PVC, etc.)
tin/aluminium sheets
! do not cut metals other than tin/aluminium
sheets
- always test out first on a piece of scrap material
! do not attempt to sharpen the cutting blade
surfaces; replace the scissor head when the
cutting blades are worn or damaged

using the other
! always remove the battery before cleaning
- do not immerse tool, charger or scissor head in water
- clean tool, charger and scissor head with a damp cloth
(do not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaners)
- keep slot M & in scissor head connection free of dust
and dirt with a soft brush or dry cloth
- cover cutting blades with protection cap L 2 when
storing the tool
! unplug charger from power source before
cleaning

- send the tool or charger undismantled together with
proof of purchase to your dealer or the nearest SKIL
service station (addresses as well as the service

- in case of a defective charger send both charger and
battery to your dealer or the SKIL service station
