HOW TO USE THIS MANUAL

Please proceed with the installation of your MODEL 1 by
following the steps in the sequence they are presented.
Throughout this manual, we have highlighted certain
points that require special attention. These points are
indicated by the three BOLDED categories below:
• "IMPORTANT" Commonly missed step in installation.
• "CAUTION" Negligence of this step could result in
damage to your MODEL 1 or personal injury.
• "HEATWORKS RECOMMENDS" The user or installer
should be aware of these additional notes and benefits.

REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION

Designated 240 V, 15-48 A circuit installed by a
licensed electrician
One (1) 3/4" or 20 mm temperature and pressure
(T&P) relief valve rated at 150 psi (10.3 bar) and
210°F (99° C)
One (1) 18" minimum flexible water heater connection
hose for the T&P relief valve outlet connection
One (1) 18" minimum 3/4" push-fit flexible water
heater connection hose for the inlet connection
HEATWORKS RECOMMENDS: For ease of installation,
install one push-fit flexible water heater connection
hose on the inlet of the unit and one threaded flexible
water heater connection hose on the T&P relief valve. If
connecting directly to copper piping, 3/4" or 22 mm
push-fit connectors can be used at the inlet connection.
Flat mounting surface (ie. a wall) - DO NOT SECURE
THE MODEL 1 TO PIPING
ADDITIONAL HELPFUL MATERIALS
Drywall anchors, plywood or stud finder to ensure
brackets will support the MODEL 1
Level to ensure mounting brackets are level before
MODEL 1 is secured with zip ties
A dedicated 50 A circuit breaker is recommended.
