Safety Warnings

WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings
and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
Work Area Safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence
of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating. Distractions can cause you
to lose control
Electrical Safety
a) Mains plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way.
Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes,
radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if
your body is earthed or grounded
c) Do not expose the steam cleaner body to rain or wet conditions. Water entering
the steam cleaner will increase the risk of electric shock
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging
the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock
e) When operating the steam cleaner outdoors, use an extension cord suitable
for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric
shock
f) Use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the
risk of electric shock
NOTE: The term "residual current device (RCD)" may be replaced by the term
"ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI)" or "earth leakage circuit breaker (ELCB)".
g) Only connect to a mains socket if the voltage matches that of the rating plate
of the steam cleaner
Personal Safety
• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating. Do
not use while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
A moment of inattention while operating may result in serious personal injury
• This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental abilities or lacking experience and/or knowledge,
unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or are
instructed by these persons on the use of the device. Children should be supervised,
to ensure that they do not play with the device
• Use the steam cleaner and accessories in accordance with these instructions,
taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use
of the steam cleaner for operations different from those intended could result in a
hazardous situation
Service
• If the power cable gets damaged and requires replacement it must be replaced
by an approved service centre or professional electrician
• Have your steam cleaner serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool steam cleaner
is maintained
Steam Cleaner Safety
WARNING: Danger of scalding
• Before starting the machine check that the power cord, plug and steam hose are in
good condition
• If an extension lead is used, the plug and socket must be of watertight construction. An
inadequate extension lead can be dangerous
• Never splash, wash down or plunge the steam cleaner into water or any other liquid
• Never obstruct the steam outlet or nozzle
• Never direct the steam nozzle towards people, animals, trees or towards particularly
hot or cold objects
• Never use steam to clean objects containing hazardous substances, for example
asbestos or dried chemicals that may be re-activated with steam; for example, glue
• Do not attempt to clean an electric cooker when the cooker is on
• Do not clean household appliances, electronic equipment or electrical connections such
as sockets, control boards etc. with this steam cleaner
• There are no user-serviceable parts inside. In case of malfunction, the machine must be
repaired by trained technicians only. Take the cleaner to an approved service centre
• Ensure all users have read and fully understand the instruction manual
• Do not work with wet hands
• Do not cover the steam cleaner when in use, it may over-heat
• Keep the steam cleaner upright and use on a flat surface
• Remove the plug from the mains socket before replacing any accessory or when you
are not using the machine
• Never attempt to change accessories before the steam has stopped spraying out of
the nozzle
