Shim
Gently slide both the shim and the bars into the SCS clamp, be sure that both bottoms
of the bars and shim are touching the halfway point of the SCS clamp. Once your front
wheel, clamp and bars are all lined up, tighten the clamp from the bottom up, repeating
this until all bolts are tight. (fig. 1.1)
Failure to tighten or install properly may result in loss of control and injury. If you have
trouble understanding these instructions, seek assistance of a qualified mechanic.
Before use, make sure you inflate the tyres to the recommended pressure.

Maintenance
Tightening your SCS compression clamp
If you are starting to feel movement in your headset, it could mean
that your SCS compression needs to be tightened. To do this, loosen
all 4 bolts on the side of the Clamp. Slide your bars out. Inside the
clamp you will see a 5mm bolt. Turn that bolt clockwise half a turn
and then by twisting your forks, feel to see how tight your headset has
become. Repeat this until you have the desired preload. fig. (1.2)
Then slide your bars back into the clamp, line the wheel, clamp and
bars up. Starting from the bottom tighten all 4 bolts up, repeat until all
are tight. (fig. 1.1)
Riders Tip: Before you put your bars back on, tighten the bottom bolt
of your SCS all the way up and then give the compression bolt one
last 1/4 turn, this will lock this bolt in and make it less likely to come
loose.
(Ensure all wrapping and packing ma-
terials are taken off your scooter before
you start)
The type of compression used on
this scooter is known as a SCS.
When you are inserting the bars
start by loosening all 4 bolts by
using the 5mm Allen Key supplied.
Then slide the silver shim out of the
SCS, this is your bar shim. Slide the
shim onto the bottom of the bars as
shown in the example, with the slit
facing towards the back. (fig. 1)
