C: the neutral position. Position D: stops the
safety car seat from rocking.
2. FITTING THE CANOPY (OPTIONAL):
a. Insert the canopy attachments into the
slots placed in the upper part of the car seat,
until they are correctly locked in the "P"
housings on the side of the car seat.
b. Open the canopy and arrange the rear
part of the hood behind the backrest.
c. The canopy is adjustable in different
positions.
d. To remove the canopy, press the side
"P" buttons and lift it upwards.
3. HEAD HUGGER (OPTIONAL): the
head hugger is required to contain
better the head of your child and to
protect the smaller children. It has to be
used exclusively in the lower position of
the harness.
4. USING THE SAFETY HARNESS:
4a. SLACKENING THE HARNESS: push the
metal button on the low part of the car seat
(1) and pull the harness towards you (2).
4b. ADJUSTING THE HEIGHT OF THE
HARNESS: push the handles on the rear part
of the backrest (1) let the harness go through
the slots on the backrest till you reach the
required position (2). The 2 harnesses must be
on the same level, they must be well tightened
and not twisted. The harness must be
adjusted on the basis of the size of your child,
so they must be at the height of your child's
shoulders or slightly higher.
4c. USING THE SAFETY HARNESS: to
open the buckle, push the red button (1).
To fasten it, take the 2 side harnesses,
place the metal left hook on the right one
(3) and insert them simultaneously inside
the buckle (4) until you hear a click (5). To
adjust the harnesses, pull towards you
the central harness (6).
5. INSTRUCTIONS FOR IN-CAR USE:
5a. VEHICLE SEATS: the safety car seat can
be fitted either on the front passenger seat
or on the rear seats of the car, and it must
always be fitted on the vehicle in the rear
facing position (facing opposite to the
normal forward movement of the vehicle).
If fitted on the front passenger seat, you
must disable airbag; if this is not possible
(PLEASE NOTE that not in all vehicles is
possible to disable airbag, in case of any
doubt

manufacturer), it is obligatory to fit the car
seat on the rear passenger seats.
5b. HARNESSES: following regulation
UN/ECE nr 16 or equivalent standard, it is
compulsory to fit the safety car seat using
the vehicle belts. It must be used with 3
point belts only.
6. FITTING THE CAR SEAT WITHOUT BASE:
6a. Place the car seat with the child looking
at the back of the vehicle seat. The car seat
must be horizontal on the vehicle seat and
leaning against the vehicle seat. The car seat
handle must be in the position for transport
by hand (fig. 1, detail B).
6b. Fasten the 3 point vehicle belt.
6c. Take the abdominal belt "A" and place it in
the 2 side guides of the car seat.
6d. Take the belt "T", wrap it around the
back of the car seat (1). Thread this part
of the belt through the rotating belt
guide in the back of the car seat (2), (3).
6e. Rotate the carrying handle into the in-
car obligatory position (fig. 1, part. A).
6f. To fit in the correct way your car
seat, grip the car seat and keep it held
in place, and then with the other hand
pull firmly the "T" belt until the slack
has been removed and the belt is well
tightened.
ATTENTION: Always check the car seat is
correctly fitted by attempting to move it.
Make sure the car seat and the carrying
handle are leaning against the vehicle seat
unit. On the contrary, the vehicle seat unit
might be incorrectly adjusted or the car seat
might be incorrectly positioned. To remove
the car seat adjust the handle in the carrying
position, unfasten the belt and remove it
from the car seat rotating belt guide and
from the side guides.
7. FITTING THE CAR SEAT WITH THE
BASE FOR MODEL 149 ONLY:
