Getting Started
Safety Tips
Please read and retain these instructions for future reference.
Check that the rating plate of the machine matches your electricity
supply prior to connection.
The socket outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall
be easily accessible.
When punching, always ensure the machine is on a flat, stable
surface.
Always test the machine with scrap paper before punching the
final document.

Unpacking and Setting Up
Your machine is ready to use when removed from the box. Retain
the packaging in case you need to return the machine for repair.
Position the machine on a flat stable surface.
Disengage the handle lock by pushing the lock lever down
(located at either side to the rear of the machine).
Lift the handle to the vertical position.
Lift the document support to the vertical position.
Connect the power cable to the power cable socket, located at
the rear right of the machine.
Connect the plug end of the power cable to the electricity outlet
socket.
Switch On the electricity supply.
The green neon light indicates that the power is On and the
machine is ready for use.
For foot pedal operation of the punching cycle, connect the foot
pedal cable to the socket at the rear right of the machine.

Selecting the Correct Wire Element
Place the document into the wire element size selector and note
the suggested size [Fig. 1]
Use the wire element size guide if you wish to confirm the size of the
wire element you are using.
Place one end of the element into the different profiles in turn to
find the appropriate profile. [Fig. 2]

When punching PVC/PP covers, we recommend the cover be
punched with some paper either side.
Do not punch metallic objects such as staples or paper clips.
Empty the waste tray regularly.
This machine has a recommended duty cycle of 5 operations per
minute, up to a maximum of 30 minutes on / 30 minutes off.
This machine is fitted with a thermal overload safety feature. In
extreme circumstances, the motor may overheat which will
activate the safety feature. This feature will prevent the machine
punching until it has cooled sufficiently.

Selecting the Correct Wire Closure Size
Turn the wire closure size selector wheel until the correct wire
element size is displayed. [Fig. 3]

Inserting and Loading the Wire Element
The wire support feature allows you to collate documents on the
comb whilst punching more pages. Giving you a quicker binding
cycle.
Place the wire element open side up on the wire support feature.

Punch Selection
Two selectable punches can be disengaged to suit different paper
sizes. To punch all 34 holes ensure that all the punch selectors
are down at the front.
To disengage a Punch, press the selector down at the rear.

To re-engage a Punch, press the selector down at the front.
To punch DIN A4 materials with 34 holes, engage all Punches.
Align the edge guide to A4 (34).
To punch DIN A5 materials, disengage the Punch 25. Align the
edge guide to A5 (24).
To punch US letter size paper 11" and oversize covers, disengage
the Punch 33. Align the edge guide to US cover or 11" size as
required.

The thermal overload switch will automatically reset after
approximately 15 minutes. The machine will then operate as if it
had been overloaded. Please refer to 'Punching the Document' for
operation details.
To avoid risk of injury DO NOT put your fingers into the wire
binding channel.
The handle must be locked in the closed position before using it
as a carry handle.

Paper Edge Alignment
Pages slightly smaller or larger than DIN A5 or A4 can be
accurately aligned using the adjustable edge guide. [Fig. 6]
Rotate the green knurled wheel to move the edge guide to the
required setting.
Test punch a scrap sheet of paper, then finely3 adjust the edge
guide if necessary. [Fig. 7]

Punching the Document
Insert the sheets into the punching channel and align to the edge
guide.
Press the 'Punch' button near the centre of the machine, or
operate the foot pedal, to punch the paper. [Fig. 8]
If the machine is overloaded and fails to complete the punch cycle,
the red neon light will be lit. Press the 'Punch' button once to cancel
the red neon light, press again to continue the punch cycle.
