GENERAL INSTALLATION

The REEF-Fill System is designed for simple installation internally in the aquarium or sump.
1. Ensure there is adequate space in the aquarium or sump to allow the float switch and
mounting bracket to be correctly installed.
Please Note: The float switch (1) must always be installed in a vertical, upright position
with the power cable at the bottom (see photo 5). The IR sensor (12) must be vertical
and facing downwards. Failure to do so will result in operating problems and water
overflowing from your sump or aquarium.
2. Install the mounting bracket (3/4) at the desired water depth in your preferred location in
your aquarium or sump, ensuring that it is in a position where it will not be subject to
excessive air bubbles or vigorous water movement.
3. Place your pump in your RO reservoir or container holding your top up water.
Please Note:The float switch/IR Sensor (1/12)must be installed so the flexible top up
hosing securing clamp (5) and top up hosing (9) are positioned above the aquarium or
sump water level AT ALL TIMES (see photo 6). Failure to do so will cause water to back-
siphon when the pump switches off and result in water overflowing from your sump or
freshwater container.
4. Attach the mounting bracket (3/4) to the side of your aquarium or sump and EITHER turn
the locking suction cup securing knob in a clockwise direction OR gently place the magnet
holder on the other side of the aquarium glass (depending on which model you have) until
the float switch (1) is fully secure.
5. Install the top up pump (6) in your desired location e.g. sump or freshwater container,
ensuring that it is fully submerged and secured.
Whilst the REEF-Fill System will detect any errant water levels, we advise that you check
to see if your sump can handle the full volume of your RO reservoir without flooding. We
also do not recommend that you keep the water level in your RO reservoir above that of
the float switch/IR sensor, in case any siphon that has started is not stopped when the
pump stops.
6. Carefully cut the flexible top up hosing (9) to the correct length so that it can be
successfully secured in the hosing securing clamp (5) on the mounting bracket without any
kinks or sags (see photo 7).
7. Making sure not to over-tighten or restrict the hosing in any way, carefully tighten the
screw on the hosing securing clamp until the hosing is firmly held in place.
8. Ensure that all connections have been made correctly and securely.
Please Note: failure to do so could result in operating problems and water overflowing
from your sump or aquarium.
9. Plug in the PSU (10).
Please Note:We strongly recommend that you regularly check the water parameters of
your aquarium to ensure optimum water quality.
