Rotate the crankshaft in direction of engine rotation
until the 1. cylinder is nearing TDC position.
Install the crankshaft setting pin.
Rotate the crankshaft further in direction of engine rotation until
the crankshaft cheek strikes onto the setting tool.
For vehicles built until Mai 2011.
Insert the camshaft adjustment tool,
it may be necessary to turn the camshaft slightly.
For vehicles built as of Mai 2011.

it may be necessary to turn the camshaft slightly.
The tool is used to align the crankshaft sensor (a) during
installation of the sensor or the pulley (b).
The crankshaft sensor is mounted on a slotted bracket that
allows the sensor position to be adjusted.
Loosen the sensor bracket, install the tool onto the sensor.
The tools gap must be installed onto the 20th tooth of the
pulley. Count the number of teeth, starting at the outlet tooth.
Adjust the required distance from the tooth.
Take a new pulley mounting bolt and tighten it slightly.
Check engine timing again as described above and tighten
pulley bolt to specified torque.
Finally, check again the distance between the sensor and pulley
and tighten to specified torque.
