this appliance with solid or flexible materials, such as
aluminum sheets, aluminum foil or other heat-resistant

impair the safety of the product and may lead to serious

Take into account the following when choosing a location:
• The appliance can be used indoors and outdoors
as a table grill.
• Grab the grill plate (2) and grill holder (4) by the heat-
insulated handles on the grill holder and lift from the
mounting bracket (5). Carry the table grill inside to use
indoors. Ensure that you do not trip over the power cord.
DO NOT CARRY WHEN HOT. Disconnect the power cord
before moving.
WARNING:
We do not recommend using the lid (1) when grilling indoors.
No warranty for any possible damage will be accepted if
the appliance is used for unintended purposes and if it is
operated incorrectly or unprofessionally. In such cases,
any warranty claims are invalid.
4.
PREPARING THE APPLIANCE FOR USE
Read the instructions carefully. They contain important advice
for the use, safety and maintenance of this appliance. Keep
the instructions and pass them on to other
users when necessary. The appliance should
only be used for the purposes described
in these instructions. Follow all local
regulations. Remove the packaging before
use. Before you use the appliance for the
first time, remove all packaging materials and
wash the grill plate. Clean the oil drip tray and
the grill lid thoroughly.
If you would like to use the Alexia 5111 as a
table model, you must remove 4 screws.
!Important:
Dry all the parts thoroughly. This applies especially to the
power inlet socket (3). Never immerse the power cord with the
regulator in water. Heat the grill for approximately 3-5 minutes
to the maximum setting with the lid in place and without any
food. Manufacturing residues may cause some smell and

smoke when the appliance is used for the first time. For safety
reasons, use the appliance outdoors the first time you use it.
5.
RECYCLING
Disable an unusable appliance immediately. Remove
the mains plug and cut the power cord. If possible, take
unusable appliances to an official waste collection point.
Many local authorities provide removal services for large
refuse at least once a year.
6.
MAINTAINING THE APPLIANCE
• Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
• Allow the grill to cool down fully.
• Remove the temperature regulator with the power cord (3)
from the appliance socket (2).
• Clean the grill plate (2) and the oil drip tray (4) with water
with dishwashing liquid and a damp cloth. Do not use steel
wool pads, brushes or abrasives to prevent any damage
to the coating on the grill plate.
• Wipe the appliance holder (4) with a damp cloth.
Fat splashes can be removed with a mild cleaning product.
• Please note: the grill plate has a non-stick coating.
Do not scratch this coating when cooking or cleaning.
Tip: protect the appliance against dust and dirt
if it is not to be used for an extended period of time.
Store in a dry location.

COOKING
• Connect the appliance to the mains supply.
• Set the temperature regulator to the required temperature
(preheating takes around 3 minutes). Preheating is faster
with the lid in place.
• The temperature indicator light switches off when
the required temperature is reached.
• Place the food to be grilled on the grill plate.
10. COOKING TIMES & INSTRUCTIONS
Below are the recommended cooking times.
Different times will be required for different weights and sizes
of food and will depend on whether you use the grill lid when
grilling. Weather conditions may also affect cooking times.
• Frozen food must be fully defrosted before barbecuing.
• To switch off the barbecue, turn the temperature switch to
the 'MIN' setting and disconnect the power cord
from the socket.
