7. Fan Assembly, Step Two.

Gently swing motor assembly up to mounting
plate, allowing slotted holes on plate at top of
motor assembly to align with loosened mounting
screws in mounting plate. Twist motor assembly to
lock. Re-insert mounting screw, along with lock
washer, that was previously removed (page 3).
Tighten all 4 mounting screws securely.
Align large screwheads in metal band at top of
motor housing with rounded part of long, slotted
holes in mounting plate. Turn motor housing
clockwise, to the RIGHT, until it no longer turns.
NOTE: You may think that you have turned the
motor housing enough upon feeling it stop when
turning it the first time, but that is probably only the
halfway point and it is extremely important that you
make sure that you turn the motor housing all the
way to ensure that the motor housing is completely
secure. To do this, when you begin turning the
motor housing and you feel that it initially stops,
turn the motor housing 2 more inches (to the
RIGHT) so that the screwheads reach the end of
each slotted hole, thereby remaining secure.

8. Blade Assembly.

Time Saver: Washers for blade screws can be set on
each blade screw prior to installing blades.
Locate 15 blade attachment screws and washers in
one of the hardware packs. Hold blade up to blade
and align holes. Insert 3 blade attachment screws
(along with washers) with fingers first and then
tighten screws securely with a Phillips screwdriver.
Repeat for the remaining blades.
Remove blade arm screws and lock washers from
underside of motor. If plastic motor locks are
installed with blade arm screws, discard plastic
motor locks (save blade arm screws and lock washers
to secure blade arms). Align blade arm holes with
motor screw holes and attach blade arm with
screws and lock washers. Before securing screws
permanently, repeat this procedure with remaining
blade arms. Secure all screws.
Note: Tighten blade arm screws twice a year.
