The grilled food is particularly tender and
succulent when the meat is marinated first.
The basic fluid for marinades includes oil,
vinegar, wine, buttermilk, lemon juice or soy
sauce. They are refined with various herbs
and spices such as pepper, mustard seeds
(or mustard), dill, bay leaves etc.
Salt absorbs water from the meat and should
therefore not be added to the marinade.
finely-spiced marinade
(for 500 g meat):
Juice of 2 lemons
3 teaspoons ground, sweet paprika
3 tablespoons of oil
Pepper
3 pressed garlic cloves
Mix all well ingredients in a bowl. Add the
meat and turn it several times in the mari-
nade so that it is completely wetted. Cover
and leave in the refrigerator for roughly 10
hours.
Hot marinade
(for 500 g meat):
3 tablespoons of vinegar (e.g., vinegar)
4 tablespoons of olive oil
2 tablespoons of honey
1 tablespoon of hot chili paste (e.g., sam-
bal oelek)
Mix all well ingredients in a small bowl. Brush
the meat with the marinade and then cover
and leave in the refrigerator for roughly 10
hours.

Spices
Roast chicken
Wash the chicken and dab it dry. Season with
herbs – depending on taste with salt, ground
paprika or chicken seasoning – all over.
Fill the drip tray up to the "MAX" mark with
water. Insert the grill plate and preheat the
appliance to medium level. Put the seasoned
chicken onto the grill plate and cover it with
the cover. The cooking time is approximately
45 minutes. Rotate the chicken a few times.
After using
1. Turn the thermostat anticlockwise until it
stops.
2. Pull the plug out of the mains socket.
3. Allow the appliance to cool down.
4. Remove the grill plate or the grate and
the heating element (7) from the appliance.
5. Empty the drip tray (2).
6. Use a sponge and washing-up liquid to re-
move stubborn stains from the warm grill grate.
7. Clean the appliance as described in
the section Cleaning and maintenance
(page 14).
NOTE
►
Use pot holders or kitchen gloves when
removing the heating element, the grill
grate or the grill plate.
Cleaning and maintenance
Before beginning any work, pay attention to
the safety instructions in the section Safety
precautions (page 9)!
The appliance must be cleaned after each use.
1. Clean the appliance as soon as it has
cooled down. Waiting too long makes clean-
ing unnecessarily difficult. Leftovers that stick
to the grill grate can burn into the coating if
not removed correctly.
Grill grate/grill plate
1. Wipe the warm grill plate with a damp
cloth or sponge and a little washing-up liquid
and then with a damp cloth without washing-
up liquid. The grill grate can be cleaned in
the dishwasher. We recommend cleaning the
grill plate by hand in order to conserve the
ceramic coating.
