Clip the connecting cables (13) on to the vertical arms (2)
by means of the cable clips (14) (fig. F).
Now connect the mains adapter (5) to the mains using the
mains lead (6).
5. Initial operation
Switch on the lighting unit with the ON/OFF switch (23) on
the mains adapter (5). The name of the lighting unit and the
program version will appear on the displays (16) of the
lights for 3 seconds. Subsequently, a lamp symbol indi-
cates that the individual lights can now be switched on.
Switch on the lights (1) by briefly pressing the respective
control dial (15) (fig. G). The lights start with the brightness
that was set before the last switch-off.
Now you can adjust the brightness of each light individually
with the correspondent control dial (15). The display (16)
shows the brightness setting in 1 %-steps from 10 % up
to 100 %.
If you want to adjust the brightness of both lights syn-
chronously, connect the lights using the enclosed light
synchro cable (17). To do this, insert the plugs (19) into one
of the ports (20) each (fig. H); they click into place audibly
and a double lamp symbol appears on the displays (16).
Now any of the control dials (15) can be used to adjust the
brightness of both lights together.
If you want to control the brightness of the lights separately
again, disconnect the lights by unplugging one or both
plugs (19) from the port(s) (20). Push the latch release (18)
towards the plug (19) to unlock the plug. Do not apply force
when releasing the plug to prevent damage of the port or
plug. Now the displays (16) show the simple lamp symbol
again.
When not in use, switch off the lighting unit with the
ON/OFF switch (23) on the mains adapter (5).
6. Adjustments
The lighting unit can be adjusted in a variety of ways (see
fig. I – L). To adjust it, release the respective fastening
screw (22), (12)/(11) or (7)/(9) and tighten it again.
Note: Fig. I – L (as well as F) refer to 5640. They also apply
accordingly for 5652.
7. Removing / Inserting soft screen
The lights are equipped with a soft screen (4) for particular
soft light. If this is not required and if there is a need for
more light, the lights can also be operated without the soft
screens. To remove the soft screen camber it at the narrow
side a bit outwards and remove it – starting from the cam-
bered narrow side – from the guide slot of a long side
(fig. M).
To reinsert a soft screen, place it in the guide slot of one
long side, then camber it on one narrow side a bit outwards
and push it – starting from the cambered narrow side – into
the guide slot of the opposite long side. It is irrelevant which
side of the soft screen faces outwards.
A polarizing foil (optional accessory) can also inserted or
removed in the same way. The polarizing foil can be used
with or without the soft screen. When used with the soft
screen the polarizing foil must be placed at the outside.
8. Changing the fuse
Pull out the mains plug before changing the fuse (25). The
fuse can be replaced after the fuse holder (24) has been
pulled out (fig. O). The mains adapter (5) must only be run
with the specified fuse (see 10. Specifications).
9. Maintenance and care
The lights are maintenance-free. Make sure that the soft
screens (4) are free of stains and dirt. If necessary remove
these before operation.
Clean the devices with a soft dry cloth. On no account use
petrol or other solvents.
