How to Use
This appliance is for household use only.
Important: For warranty verification, do not remove line cord sticker.
Getting Started
Wash each set of plates as instructed in the Care and Cleaning section.
Grilling Options
The grill can be used in two different positions:
• Closed-cover position – Cooks the food on the top and bottom at the same time.
• Open-flat position – Gives you a larger cooking surface. Cooks the food on the bottom only.
Food may need to be turned. See steps 1 and 2 below for setting up the unit to the open-flat
position.

1. Make sure the unit is unplugged.
2. Flip up the support leg on the cover then pull open the lid
lock. Open the grill to the half-open position (A).
3. Lift the lid slightly to release the grill hinge so the grill can be
placed in the open-flat position (B).
4. Press the release buttons (C) and lift out the plates.
CAUTION: Plates may be extremely hot after cooking.
To insert the plates
1. Insert the two tabs on each plate into the grill slots (D).
2. Gently push down and snap plates into place.
To close the grill
1. Gently bring down the lid over the bottom base until they both
come together.
2. Snap the lid lock in place (E).
Getting Ready to Cook
1. Before preheating the cooking plates, lightly brush each plate
with vegetable oil or lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Always preheat the grill in the closed position and before
placing any food on the cooking plates.
3. Close the grill and plug the unit into a standard wall outlet.
The power on indicator light comes on and stays on until the
unit is unplugged. The green preheat light comes on until the
unit reaches the cooking temperature.
4. Once preheated, the preheat light will go out. Open the grill
and place food to be cooked on the cooking plate.
CAUTION: Plates are hot, use a hot mitt and carefully lift the Lid
to check or remove food.
5. Close the grill. The green preheat light may cycle on and off
while in the cooking cycle.
IMPORTANT: Should grease or oil overflow during use, unplug
unit and let it cool completely. Remove the cooking plates and
clean the grease or oil from around the heating elements before
further use.
6. Use the chart below as a guide to cooking times and grill
positions. Check minimum time and watch food closely as
actual cooking times may vary.
