Operation
1.
See the instruction manual supplied with the multimeter (purchased separately).
2.
See Typical Measurements for specific measuring instructions.
3.
Connect the TPIR-J or TPIR-K to the input terminals of the multimeter. Set the multimeter
to read temperature.
4.
Turn the unit on.
5.
Test the unit on an object with a known temperature.
• If the unit does not function as expected on an object of known temperature, replace
the battery.
• If the unit still does not function as expected, send the unit to Greenlee for repair.
6.
Take the reading from the object being measured.
Notes:
• Do not touch or hold by the front cone of sensor. Temperature readings can be affected by
heat from hands.
• If the object or target temperature is above or below the specified range or battery power is
low, the meter will alternate between displaying a reading and a display code. See Display
Code Descriptions for more information.
