3.
Refrain from inducing short-circuiting between

causing smoke or sparks to be generated, the
battery to burst, etc.

CAUTION
1.
When the unit is not being used, store it away
properly.
Keep the unit in a place that has a low humidity
and that is not exposed to direct sunlight.
In order to avoid accidents, keep the unit in a high
location out of the reach of children or keep it
under lock and key.
Do not keep the unit in a location subject to
sudden changes in temperature or humidity.
Do not keep the unit in a location where there are
volatile materials.
Remove the battery before storing the unit away.
Do not keep the batteries in a location where the
temperature may exceed 50°C (122°F, such as
inside a metal box or inside a vehicle on a hot

remove the battery and stop using the unit.
Continued use may cause smoke or sparks to be

Handling the dry cells
Misusing or abusing the dry cells may cause
electric shocks, bursting or sparks to be
generated. It may also cause electrolyte to leak,
which will corrode the unit and dirty the user's
hands, clothing, etc. In particular, bear the
following points in mind:
Do not use dry cells that are new together with dry
cells that have been used even once.
Do not place dry cells in a pocket, bag, etc.

Do not apply heat to dry cells or throw them into a
fire.

Do not solder the dry cells.
Do not short-circuit the terminals of the dry cells.
Do not use different types of dry cells together.
Remove the dry cells when they are not to be
used for a while.
Install the dry cells properly as indicated with their
"+" and "–" terminals aligned correctly.
If electrolyte has leaked out, thoroughly wipe it off
on the dry cell compartment, and then install new
dry cells.
In the event that any parts of your body have
come into contact with leaking electrolyte, rinse it
off thoroughly with water.
