For safety reasons, children and young persons under 16 years of age as well as persons who cannot recog-
nise possible danger or who are not familiar with these operating instructions, are not permitted to use the
unit!
Please keep these operating instructions in a safe place! Also hand over the operating instructions when passing the
unit on to a new owner. Ensure that all work with this unit is only carried out in accordance with these instructions.
The combination of water and electricity can lead to danger to life and limb, if the unit is incorrectly connected or
misused.
Attention! Danger of electric shock. Ensure that the cable connection points and their surroundings are dry.
Protect the connection cable when burying to avoid damage. Only use cables approved for outside use. Ensure that
the power connection cable cross section is not smaller than that of the rubber hoses with the identification H07RN-F 3
G. Extension cables must meet DIN VDE 0620. Only use unwound cables. Under-water application of the unit is only
permissible with a 12 Volt rated voltage, its use out of the water only with 230 Volt! Electrical installations in garden
ponds and swimming ponds must meet the national and international regulations valid for installers.
Never operate the unit if the cable or housing are defective! Disconnect the power! Do not carry or pull the unit by the
connection cable.
Compare the electrical data of the supply with those on the unit type plate. This data must coincide.
Ensure that the unit is supplied via a fault current protection (FI or RCD) with a reference fault current of 30 mA maxi-
mum. Do not operate the unit if persons are in the water! Never open the unit housing or its attendant components,
unless this is explicitly mentioned in the operating instructions. Always disconnect the power supply of all units located
in water and of this unit prior to performing work on the unit! For your own safety, consult a qualified electrician if you
have questions or encounter problems!

Electrical connection

Attention! Danger of electric shock. The use of the unit below water level is only allowed with a rated voltage
of 12 Volt! Above water level, the use of the unit is allowed with a rated voltage of 230 Volt.
Only entrust an authorised expert to carry out the electrical connection, installation and start-up in accordance with the
German EVU and VDE. The VDE 0100, part 702, are valid for all installations. Deviations from the rated voltage +6%
and -10%. Use a safety transformer. When the unit is operated with 12 Volt, ensure that the connection cable cross
section is at least 2.5 mm² and its length 5 m. When the unit is operated with 230 Volt, ensure that the connection
cable cross section is at least 1.5 mm² and its length 10 m.
Set-up and start-up (A-E)
The unit comes fully assembled, but without bulbs and connection cable. (A) Undo the four M5 x 35 mm screws and
remove the upper section of the housing. Inside the housing, disconnect the cable shoe of the earth cable from the
earthing plate, detach the socket holder and remove the socket from the housing. Undo the union nuts PG16 and
remove the cable sheaths. (B, C) When operated with 12 Volt, slide the outer cable sheath(es) and the union nut(s)
PG16 on connection cable HO7RN-F 3 G 2.5 mm² Ø, when operated with 230 Volt, slide the inner and outer cable
sheath(es) and union nut(s) PG16 on connection cable HO7RN-F 3 G 1.5 mm² Ø. When the unit is oper-
ated individually (B), lead the connection cable through the cable lead-through opening in the bottom section of the
housing, seal the non used cable lead-through using sealing plugs, then screw on the union nut PG16. When several
units are operated in a parallel circuit ( C ), lead the connection cables through the cable lead-throughs into the bottom
section of the housing. (B, C) Crimp the ferrules to the conductor ends and connect to the 4 pole terminal. (D) Pull the
connection cables out of the housing up to the point where the mounting and mounting holder can be screwed to the
bottom section of the housing (ensure the correct positioning). Slide the cable shoe of the earth cable onto the earthing
plate, insert the 98 × 7.5 mm O ring into the bottom section of the housing, screw in the bulb. Insert the 110 × 6 mm O
ring into the upper section of the housing and screw together the housing using the M5 × 35 mm screws. Insert the
cable sheaths in the cable leadthrough(s) of the bottom section of the housing and fix using union nut(s) PG16. (E)
Undo nut M6 and remove screw and foot from the retaining rings, fit the foot on firm ground using a 6 mm screw
connection so as to ensure that the unit presents no danger for anybody and cannot be disassembled without tools
(permanent local installation). Fasten the unit to the foot using the screw and an M6 nut and ensure firm seating.
Connect the power supply and check the spotlight function.
Replacement of the coloured glass (optional) or the safety glass
Insert the coloured glass or safety glass into the recess provided in the upper section of the housing and fasten using
four retaining elements and 5 × 10 mm screws. For coloured glass versions, please refer to the last page, Pos. 9
(a = red, b = blue, c = yellow, d = green).
Exchanging the bulb
Adhere to the safety instructions! Disconnect the power supply and take measures to prevent unintentional switching
on. Both 12 Volt and 230 Volt PAR 38 bulbs fit in the lamp base (E 27). For 12 Volt use a bulb type PAR 38 12 V / 100
W and for a rated voltage of 230 Volt use a bulb type PAR 38 230 V / 120 W. Undo the four M5 × 35 mm screws and
remove the upper section of the housing. Ensure that no moisture can enter the unit. Replace bulb and O rings, refit
the upper section of the housing. Reconnect to the power supply and check function.
