2. PRODUCT FEATURES

3. CONTROLLER CONNECTION AND SETUP
In order to connect the controller to your PS3™ system, please follow the steps below:
3.1. For first use, you must link the controller with the system according to these steps:
• First, make sure your PS3™ system is turned on.
• Once your controller is fully charged (see section 4 called "Charging the Controller") plug the
USB-miniUSB cable included within the miniUSB controller connector and the other edge into a
free USB slot from your system; all 4 LED indicators will flash at the same time.
• Next, press the HOME button and a player number (from 1 to 4) will be automatically assigned
and its matching LED indicator in the controller will be turned and will remain on.
• Unplug the USB cable from the system and from the controller.
• Now you can use the controller with your PS3™ system.
3.2. For regular use, when you have already linked the controller following the previous steps:
• First, make sure your PS3™ system is turned on.
• Check that your controller is fully charged for a normal use. Then, press the HOME button and a
player number (from 1 to 4) will be automatically assigned and its matching LED indicator in the
controller will be turned and will remain on.
• Now you can use the controller with your PS3™ system.
Important: You may need to re-sync your controller after a PS3™ firmware system update. If so,
please follow the above steps in 3.1.
3.3. To use the controller with your PS3™ system as a wired controller, please follow the steps
below:
• First, make sure your PS3™ system is turned on.
• Plug the USB-miniUSB cable included within the controller miniUSB connector and also in a free
USB slot from your system, all 4 LED indicators will flash at the same time.
• Finally, press the HOME button and a player number (from 1 to 4) will be automatically
assigned and its matching LED indicator in the controller will be turned and will remain on.
• Now you can use the controller with your PS3™ system as a wired controller.
