BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove any packaging and promotional material from
your kettle and position it on a stable, secure, dry and
level work surface away from the edge.
Before connecting to a power source, make sure your
mains supply voltage is the same as the one indicated on
the appliance. Connect the plug to a suitable power outlet
and make sure that the power cord does not overhang
the work surface. Excess power cord can be stored in the
power base.
Remove the kettle from the power base. Fill it to the
maximum mark.
Place the kettle back onto the power base. Press the
BOIL button, allow it to boil then discard the water.
Repeat twice. This will remove any residue left over from
the manufacturing process.
USING YOUR KETTLE

Boiling water

1. Fill with water as required (fig. A).
2. Place the kettle on the base. Check the water level
with the kettle on the base (fig. B).
3. Press the BOIL button. The BOIL button will flash and
the kettle will start to boil. The temperature display
will show the water temperature progression in 5ºC
increments.
4. Once boiled, your kettle will make a sound and
automatically switch off. All lights will go out. The
display will continue to show the current temperature
of the water until the temperature has fallen by 20ºC.
5. To stop the kettle at any time press the BOIL button.
Heat to selected temperature
1. Fill with water as required (fig. A).
2. Place the kettle on the base. Check the water level
with the kettle on the base (fig. B).
3. Press the TEMPERATURE SELECT button to select
the desired water temperature (60ºC, 70ºC, 80ºC or
90ºC).
4. Press the START button. The START button will
flash and the water will be heated to the selected
temperature. The temperature display will show the
temperature in 5ºC increments.
5. When the selected temperature is reached, your kettle
will make a sound and automatically switch off. All
lights will go out. The display will continue to show the
current temperature of the water until the temperature
has fallen by 20ºC.
6. To stop the kettle at any time press the START button.
Note that your kettle can only heat water up and not cool
it down so if you select a temperature of 70ºC and the
water in your kettle is already hotter, nothing will happen.
Keep Warm Feature
The keep warm feature will maintain the temperature of
the water at 70ºC for 10 minutes. To switch on the keep
warm feature press the KEEP WARM button. The button
will flash when your kettle is in the keep warm mode. To
switch off the keep warm mode, press the KEEP WARM
button again. The temperature display will be off when
your kettle is in the keep warm mode.
Sounds
The sounds your kettle makes can be turned on or
off as preferred. To turn them off, press and hold the
TEMPERATURE button then press the BOIL button. The
display will briefly show OFF. To turn the sounds back on,
press and hold the TEMPERATURE button then press
the BOIL button. The display will briefly show ON.
IF THE KETTLE BOILS DRY
If your kettle is operated with insufficient water a built
in safety device will automatically switch it back off
preventing damage. The display will flash 888. If this
should happen:
• Unplug your kettle and allow it to cool. When your
kettle has cooled down sufficiently the safety device
will reset itself.
• Once the safety device has reset, refill your kettle with
cold water and use it as normal.
CLEANING
1. Unplug the kettle from the mains supply socket and
allow it to completely cool down before cleaning or
descaling it.
2. Clean the exterior surface of the kettle with a damp
cloth and then polish with a soft dry cloth. Do not use
steel wool pads or harsh/abrasive cleaners.
3. Descale your kettle regularly to keep it working
efficiently. Use a descaling product following the
manufacturer's instructions carefully.
5
