4. INITIAL USE AND HAIR
STRAIGHTENING
Preparing your hair
• Wash your hair and dry it thoroughly.
• Comb your hair thoroughly; do not use
hairspray or other flammable chemical
hair care products.
• Wrap a towel around your neck to avoid
burns.
Switch on the appliance
• Use the locking device f to open the
appliance. Plug in the appliance and
switch it on by using the ON/OFF switch
b. The temperature control lights 1-3 will
come on immediately; the 4th will flash
until the appliance reaches its preset
temperature of 160ºC.
The preset temperature will be reached
after approx. 1 minute.
Setting the temperature
Select the appropriate temperature for your
hair type. You will find information on this in
the table below.
Setting low temperature levels
• Press the – button repeatedly on the c
switch until the required temperature
level is set. The minimum temperature is
100ºC.
Setting high temperature levels
• Press the + button repeatedly on the c
switch until the required temperature
level is set. The maximum temperature is
200ºC.
N.B.:
For every new temperature selected, the
respective control light will flash until
the temperature is reached. The highest
temperature levels will be reached within a
few seconds; lowering the temperature will
take longer.

100ºC 120ºC 140ºC 160ºC 180ºC 200ºC
Warning!
There is a risk of burning your hair if you
select too high a temperature!
Depending on your hair type, an incorrectly
selected temperature or inappropriate
use of the straightener can dry your hair
too much or even burn it. The following
list shows the recommended temperature
levels which must always be taken into
account.
Always select the lowest
temperature level (100ºC) when
you use your straightener for the
first time.
Select a low temperature level
of approx. 120ºC for blonde,
bleached or dyed hair.
Select a low (140ºC) to medium
(160ºC) temperature level for
normal and slightly wavy hair.
