drying is recommended and the wire rope should then be
lightly lubricated with acid-free oil or Vaseline (only for steel
ropes).
•
Where there is a retractable lanyard made from PES /
Dyneema, this should only be cleaned with warm water or a
neutral detergent. Never use thinner or similar agents. Any
cleaning agent residue should be removed completely with
clear water.
•
Please note the following! Retractable fall arresters should be
stored and transported in a dry, dust-free and oil-free
environment.
•
Textile components that have become wet as a result of
cleaning or use should be left to dry naturally. Never place
them near a flame or similar sources of heat to dry out.
•
Do not bring the retractable fall arresters into contact with
aggressive substances (e.g. oil, grease, acid, solvents or
other chemicals).
7.) Regular checks
The inspections (documented visual and functional checks) must
take place at least once a year (in accordance with EN) and should
be carried out by a qualified person in accordance with DGUV
guideline 312-906 (i.e. complying with national guidelines for PPE
inspection). These are intended to ensure the safety of the user,
the device's function and therefore also its service life. Maintenance
(documented disassembly and intensive inspection) must be
carried out at least once every 5 years and may only be carried out
by SKYLOTEC or a service company trained by Skylotec. Regular
inspection and maintenance depends on the actual usage intervals
and the atmosphere (dust, moisture etc.) in which the retractable
fall arrester is used. The device must be protected against contact
with third-party materials such as salts, oils, chemicals, paints and
against the impact of fire, welding flames and sparks, acids and
alkalis, and similar. The check must be entered in the Skylotec
Homebase, and the record card set out under Point 9 can also be
used.
8.) Identification and warranty certificate
The information on the applied stickers corresponds to that for the
