Product-specific safety information
Always disconnect the instrument from the power supply and neutralize your own static
|
charge before opening the instrument, otherwise you could damage the internal components.
All adjustment, maintenance and repair tasks on energized tong meter may only be performed
|
by qualified specialist personnel familiar with the specifications of this manual.
"Qualified personnel" refers to a person familiar with the installation, type and operation of the
|
equipment and the associated dangers. They are experienced and authorized to connect or
disconnect electrical circuits and installations according to the professional method of opera-
tion.
When opening the instrument, remember that some internal condensers retain lethal voltage
|
potential after being switched off.
If faults or unusual events occur, decommission the instrument and make sure that it can no
|
longer be used until after it has been checked.
If the instrument is not used for a longer period of time, remove the batteries and keep the in-
|
strument in an environment that is not moist or too hot.
Exercise extreme caution when performing tasks on uninsulated conductors and busbars.
|
Contact with these components could result in an electric shock! Use the appropriate protec-
tive equipment!
Definition of the measurement categories
Measurement category II: Measurements on circuits directly connected to low voltage networks
electrically via plug. Typical short-circuit current < 10 kA
Measurement category III: Measurements within the building installation (stationary consumer
devices with non-plug-in connection, distributor connection, permanently installed equipment in
the distributor).
Typical short-circuit current < 50 kA
Measurement category IV: Measurements at the source of the low voltage installation (meters,
mains connection, primary over-current protection). Typical short-circuit current >> 50 kA
To establish the measurement category in a combination of test lead and measuring instrument,
the lowest category, of either the test lead or the measuring instrument, always applies.
The user must comply with all the usual safety regulations when using this tong meter.
Protect against dangers from electricity.
|
Protect the measuring instrument against misuse.
|
For your own safety, the instrument may only be used with the measuring head included in the
scope of delivery. Check that the instrument is in a faultless condition before use.
