secure the connector into place (Fig. 2).
IMPORTANT: Mount the connectors to the
bracket prior to wiring the harness to the
tow vehicle.
6. Plug the combination harnesses' trailer style
4-flat connector into the tow vehicle's 4-flat trailer
harness. This connection will provide tail &
marker light, stop light & turn signal functions
(Fig. 3).
7. Determine an appropriate position on the
vehicle frame within reach of the combination
harness to attach the grounding screw. Clean away
any dirt, debris or undercoating
and drill a 3/32" hole.
Caution: Do not drill into any
exposed surfaces or through
the vehicle body.
8. Attach the combination harnesses white wire with the
ring terminal to the vehicle using the screw provided. This attachment
is required for the harness to perform properly. The white wire on the
vehicle's 4-flat connector will not support the ground (-) functions on
the combination harnesses 4-flat & 6-way connectors.
9. Using 12 Ga. (min.) wire, connect the remaining wires to the to the
appropriate functions as listed below using the butt connectors
(provided).
6-Way Connector
Blue - Electric Brakes
Black - Auxiliary or Backup Lights
10. Confirm correct operation with a test light or by using a properly
equipped trailer.
11. Secure any loose wires using cable ties (provided).
