the machine is used again.

1. Before operating

- Check the safety equipment and make sure the machine is safe for operation.
- Check to make sure that the feed hopper is empty.
- Check to make sure all parts are secure.
- Check to see if there are any visible defects: broken parts, cracks, etc.
- Check that the collection box has been clipped into place correctly.
- Check whether the locking handle (9) has been pushed up.
2. Switching On and Off (Fig 13 to 15)
CAUTION:
Before starting the machine, make sure that there is no material already in the feed hopper.
Before feeding in material, wait until the machine has reached working speed.
- Connect connection cable to power plug (2) and lock with the fixing clamp (Fig 13).
- Turn down the rotation selection knob (21) to the forward position (21b).
- To start the machine, press the green button "I" (19a).
- To stop the machine, press the red button "O" (19b).
CAUTION:
The cutter deck continues to rotate for a short while after the machine is switched off.
3. Operating
- Adopt a working position at the side of or behind the machine.
- Never stand in the area of the discharge opening.
- Never put your hands in the feed hopper or discharge opening.
- Cut up organic garden residues may be used as biological fertiliser for the garden. Put biologically degradable
material such as leaves, branches and grass into the feed hopper (4) in measured quantities to prevent blocking.
- Cut material must be collected in the collection box (10).
- Alternate between twigs and garden rubbish that has been stored for several days and is thus limp and damp.
This prevents the blade drum from blocking.
- Soft waste such as kitchen waste is not suitable for the chipper and should be composted.
- Before new material is fed in, heavily branched material with leaves must be completely cut up.
- Heavy material or branches will cause the chipper to block if you attempt to cut them with no breaks. Pull the
material out by hand a short way in order to counteract this problem, or use the rotation switch (21).
- Carefully inspect the material to be cut. The machine may become seriously damaged from stones, nails or
similar objects.
- Strong vibration of the chipper indicates damaged or blunt cutter deck. In this case, replace the cutter deck.
