4. Empty the collection box
CAUTION!
Press the Off button (19b) and separate the device from the main power supply before removing or
inserting the collection container.
The collection container must be emptied when you have finished working with the machine or when it is full.
- Push the locking handle (9) down.
- Pull the collection box (10) completely out of the frame (1).
- Empty the box.
- Clean the collection box and the discharge opening.
- Slide the collection box (10) onto the frame (1) as far as it will go.
- Make sure that the locking handle (9) of the collection box is on the front of the motor unit.
- Push the locking handle (9) up.
5. Overload protection (Fig 14)
Overload caused by a blocked blade or material that is too thick leads to shutdown of the machine.
The overload protection switches the power supply off automatically to protect the motor from damage.
- Eliminate the blockage.
- Wait at least one minute, and then press the overload protection switch (20).
- Press the On button (19a) for a restart the machine.
6. Switching the direction of rotation (Fig 15)
CAUTION:
Before changing direction, always switch the machine off and wait until the cutter deck has come to a standstill.
Switching the direction of rotation with the switch (21) allows jammed material to be freed.
- Position (21a): the cutter deck rotates backwards and releases the jammed material through the feed hopper.
- Position (21b): the cutter deck pulls in the material to be chopped up.
To release jammed material:
- Switch off the machine with the button "O" (19b).
- Turn the switch (21) to the reverse position (21a).
- Press and hold down the button "I" (19a): it is a "push-button" operation.
- Release the button "I" (19a), switch off the machine with the button "O" (19b), and then turn the switch (21) to the
forward position (21b) in order to restart the machine.
Note:
The direction of rotation can be switched only when the machine is switched Off.
7. Setting the pressure plate (Fig 16 & 17)
The pressure plate is set at the factory and does not require adjustment when the machine is switched on for the
first time.
The pressure plate only requires re-adjustment if the material to be chopped up is no longer cut cleanly or is not
cut at all.
If the the machine is blocked too frequently.
In the event of difficult to clear blockages, it is possible to increase the distance between the pressure plate and the
cutter deck.
- Turn the pressure plate adjustment knob (8) anti-clockwise and use the directional switch (21) to the reverse
position (21a).
- When the trapped material is freed, the pressure plate must be adjusted back again (see below).
If the material to be chopped up is no longer cut cleanly or is not cut at all.
You need to decrease the distance between the pressure plate and the cutter deck.
- Turn the switch (21) to the forward position (21b), and then switch on the machine.
- Turn the pressure plate adjustment knob (8) anti-clockwise until grinding noises can be heard.
- Switch Off the unit.
