CHAPTER 3: INSTALLATION

Do not look at the fiber ends when the laser is lit. Unmated connectors may emit invisible light, and this may cause eye
damage.
1. The patch panel is shipped with two screws installed on the sides for the front rackmounting position. Either keep
these in this position or move them to the middle or back positions to suit your application.
2. Using the included 10/32 or 12/24 cuphead screws, mount the shelf in a 19" or 23" rack.
3. Pull the button on the front right of the shelf to release the tray.
4. Install the fiber cables in the preloaded adapters on the pull-out tray. See Figure 3-1.
NOTE: The patch panel supports 24 fiber adapters. Splice trays (JPM440A, not included) are optional. One splice tray
supports 24 fibers.
