Always add fuel before starting
the engine. Do not remove the
fuel cap and expose the fuel tank
while the engine is running or
hot.Stop the engine and allow it
to cool before refueling. Avoid
open fire and sparks and do not
smoke. Never refuel the machine
indoors.Do not start the engine if
fuel has been spilled. Remove the
unit from the area with spilled
fuel and wait until the fuel
vapours have evaporated.
To avoid fire hazard keep the
following parts of the machine
free of grass or oil: engine,
exhaust pipe, battery, fuel tank.

cutting blades with their holders,
the controls and all nuts & bolts

Checking the fuel level
• Remove the fuel cap and refill
with fuel as necessary (see
engine manual for fuel type)
• Wipe away spilled fuel if
necessary
Checking the transmission oil
(Figure 10):
•
Clean the area around the
filling tube
•
Remove the dipstick
•
Clean the dipstick
•
Insert the dipstick and
remove it again
•
Check the oil level. The oil
level must be between the
two marks.
•
If necessary, pour oil into the
oil fill tube (only use "Cub
Cadet Drive System Plus
Oil")
•
Reinstall the dipstick securely
tube
into the oil fill
Adjustments prior to
mowing:
Warning!
Do not make any
adjustments while the engine
is running or when the
tractor is in motion.
•
Place the tractor on a level
surface
•
Stop the engine before
working on the unit
When working on moving parts:
•
Open the hood and remove
wires from the spark plugs
Adjusting the driver´s seat
(figure 11):
•
Sit down on the driver´s seat
•
Slide the seat adjustment
lever to the left
•
Position the seat in the
desired location
•
Release the seat adjustment
lever and make sure that the
seat is locked into place.
Steering wheel adjustment
Push down on the steering wheel
tilt lock lever and either pull or
push the steering wheel to the
desired position. Release the

steering wheel tilt lock lever and
check that the steering wheel is
locked into place.
Note:
Deck front lift rod assembly
For shipping purposes, the deck
front lift rod assembly has been
installed on the tractor. Cut the tie
strap holding the lift rod assembly
to the tractor; then pull downward
on the quick latch rod at the front
of the tractor to remove the lift
rod assembly
Starting The Engine
•
Operator must be sitting in
the tractor seat.
•
Push choke lever to the full
choke position. Less choking
or no choking at all may be
necessary due to variations in
engine temperature,
•
Place the throttle midway
between the "SLOW" and
"FAST position.
•
Make sure the PTO switch is
in the "OFF" position.
•
Fully depress the brake pedal.
•
Turn the ignition key
clockwise to the "START"
position and release it as soon
as the engine starts (do not
crank the engine continuously
for more than 5 seconds at a
time; wait 10 seconds for the
next try).
•
After the engine starts, slowly
release the brake pedal. As
the engine warms up,
gradually pull the choke lever
all the way back.
Stopping The Engine
Warning: Remove the
key from the ignition switch to
prevent accidental starting or
battery discharge if the
equipment is left unattended
•
Place the PTO switch in the
"OFF' position. Place the
throttle control lever in the
"SLOW" position and allow
the engine to idle for about
