Safety recommendations

• Read the instructions for use carefully
before using your appliance for the first
time: any use which does not conform
to the instructions will absolve KRUPS
from all liability.
Do not leave the appliance within reach

of children without supervision. The
use of this appliance by young children
or by disabled persons must be done
under supervision.
• Check that the supply voltage of your
appliance does in fact correspond to that of
your household electrical wiring system.
Any connection error will render the
guarantee null and void.
• Your appliance is intended solely for
domestic use within the home.
• Unplug your appliance once you have
finished using it and when you are cleaning
it.
• Never use your appliance if it is not working
properly or if it has been damaged. If this
happens, contact your nearest approved
KRUPS service center (see list in the service
booklet).
• Any intervention other than normal cleaning
and maintenance by the customer must be
performed by an approved KRUPS service
center (see list in the service booklet).
Never place the appliance, the power cable

or the plug in water or any other liquid.
• Never allow the power cable to hang down
within reach of children.

The power cable must never be close to or in
•
contact with the hot parts of your appliance,
close to a source of heat or resting on sharp
edges.
• If the power cable or the plug are damaged,
do not use the appliance. In order to avoid
any unecessary risk, these must be replaced
by an approved KRUPS service center (see list
in the service booklet).
• For your own safety, use only the KRUPS
accessories and spare parts which are
suitable for your appliance.
• Never let long hair, ties or scarves hang close
to the appliance while using it.
• Place appliance on a dry, clean and plane
surface to operate the can opener.
• All the appliances are subject to very strict
quality checks. Practical working tests are
carried out on appliances selected at random
and this accounts for any trace of previous
use.

Before using for the first time

• Before using your «Open Control» can
opener for the first time, wipe surface and
cutting blade with a clean moist cloth. This
will remove any dust particles that may have
settled during shipping.
Operating
.Operating your «Open Control» can
opener
• Clean the lid of the can
• Connect the appliance to the power supply.
• Raise the operating lever and place the edge
of the can (with the can upright) on the
transport wheel (2).The magnet (b2) must
be in contact with the top of the can.
• Press down operating lever (3).The can turns
automatically and the blade is going to cut
the lid.
The Open Control can opener is suitable for
most cans up to 7 inches high.
• When the can has made a complete
revolution, the lid is released and remains in
place on the magnet.
